Airplane MAW question

hi all!

hope you are all well :)
its weekend!

i saw this option in controls menu for aircraft, which is talking about MAW.
to be more specific, it says "Countermeasures slaving to MAW (on/off)".

first off, what is MAW?
second, do all top tier planes have it?

MAW is a missile detection system that automatically fires off CMs if it detects something. Currently, no jet has this system, they're only available on more advanced helicopters.

Probably there for when more modern jets that had it are implemented

It is indeed. Normally I don't interact with Necro threads, but was just too hard not to pass up!

There's some other aircraft that will probably have the feature added in the future I'm sure. I believe the Mirage 2000s should have a MAW system as well as a few of the iterations of Harriers.

Was also researching "slave to MAW" and came across this thread. Do the Harriers have it now or are you talking about something that should be added in the future becase they have it IRL? I'm currently in the AV8-C and would love that...

No, they haven't implemented it for harriers because heaven ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forbid Britain get something vaguely correct.

The F111 has maw but you can't configure it and it will dump all 50 flares soon as it detects even a missile not heading for you
