Reggiane Italian fighters, tier 6 jets like the F-100 Super Sabre, MiG-19, I-225, French Spitfire, and that's all I can think of atm.

The B-26 came first but they are separate aircraft. I could say that the A-20 looks like a A-26B-10, but they still are different things.

Why do we have to push towards modernity?

Lets go the other way...
We need Zeppelins!

Zepplins where used in stratigic bombing campaigns through out world war 1, armed with several defensive machine guns, and could fit several tons of bombs.
