Re-downloading of the game files on Steam

For unknown reasons, Steam has started to download the game files again.
In order not to download existing files again, you can use the following algorithm:
1. Pause the download of the game on Steam client.
2. Find the folder with the War Thunder game and rename it (for example, as “War Thunder1”).
3. On Steam client, uninstall the War Thunder game.
4. Rename the game folder back to its original name.
5. On Steam, find the War Thunder game and click "install".
6. Steam will check the files and download the missing ones, if necessary, so you can continue to play.

По неизвестным причинам, Steam начал скачивать файлы игры заново.
Чтобы не выкачивать все файлы заново вы можете воспользоваться следующим алгоритмом:
1. Поставьте скачивание игры в Steam на паузу.
2. Найдите папку с игрой War Thunder и переименуйте её (допустим, в War Thunder1).
3. В Steam удалите игру War Thunder.
4. Переименуйте обратно папку с игрой, вернув ей прежнее название.
5. В Steam найдите игру War Thunder и нажмите "установить".
6. Steam проверит файлы и при необходимости докачает недостающие, и вы сможете играть дальше.

A little update then, left the pc all night downloading, reached around 25 GB at
twelve o'clock then stopped and turned off pc to let other member of family use internet. Later turned on pc when i got back home, and back to 0 again

I can't believe how bad Steam is. NO SUPPORT. Just spent 3 days downloading war thunder. Steam the gave the "Not responding" kiss of death. Now it's installing again right from the start. No way to complain directly. I give up. Looks like I won't be using steam ever again. What a shambles.

Steam is now showing I've down loaded 110MB of 33.7GB and will take 1 day 17 hours to down load. Can anyone advise how I contact someone in steam to get a person to do something! Would be a fantastic help.

Why is steam not fixing their screw-up? Their technical help is useless. I'm now back to 0 of 33.7Gb to down load. I can't see any way out of this cycle.

TWO Ways of Bypassing Steam to launch Warthunder:

1. Launch Steam
2. Right Click Warthunder in your library.
3. Click Properties
4. Click Local Files
5. Click the win64 folder.
6. Run aces.exe
7. An error asking if you want to run the launcher will come up, choose Yes.
8. Play War Thunder.

Repeat steps 1 - 4
5. Click Launcher.exe
6. Wait a few minutes for it to patch
7. Play War Thunder

I had to do method 1 before method 2 worked for me, but I do not have high speed internet so things are different for me.

Yes, tried that but for some reason aces.exe is no longer on my hard drive since the download. Nothing seams to work. My internet speed in rural New Zealand is pretty dire too which doesn't help. Looks like I'm going to loose 2 years of War Thunder progress.
