steam downloading the game again

i have all the war thunder files in my pc and i just played last night now the steam is trying to download all 33gb again why

Sorry gents!
Unfortunately we don't know what happened. Steam is redownloading the same files.
May be it is somehow depends on enabling steam download and disabling automatic updates via launcher (that was the most popular requests from steam players).
But that is unclear how this things are connected.
Version is the same.
Steam just decided to download files.
We are trying to get to Valve about the issue.
If it will happen again - we'd ask Valve to disable steam updates again.
Sorry for inconvenience again

PS People say that this works:

1. pause the update on steam
2. go to your WT folder, rename the folder to other things like "War Thunder old"
3. uninstall war thunder from steam
4. rename the folder back to just "War Thunder"
5. Reinstall the game back on steam on the same path as before, and it should identify the
old files

idk if it was from the update or whatever this is but when prioritied the update in my list it triggered my firewall

go to the War Thunder's directory, find it in the folder named (win86 and win64). It's an executable that will run the game without the launcher.

PS: when a windows message appeared (something about error stuff) just click NO
both of them are gone from my pc, huh...

here didnt just gone, but when i enter they ask a login/password and i just use steam lmao

pretty much comes out to 35.4 gigs. overwrite. steam-steamapps-common-warthunder

edit: this is also the location to run the .exe without using steam

I can confirm the game is working after the 33gb update. The WT launcher took an extra min to validate the files, but it got me into the game.

Its trying to install the game twice.
I just went to my steam library and literally found war thunder and clicked the launcher.exe, it ran normally until it asked me to sign in.

30+ GB steam update loop

Game played fine earlier today, just went to launch the game but instead of taking me to the launcher it brought me to the steam download page and gave me a 33GB update like it was re-downloading the game. There was no major update today so this must be some sort of issue.
Steam also gave me a "missing important files" error after completing the 33GB download and restarted the download

*UPDATE* I canceled the second update and just uninstalled/reinstalled and it seemed to it install in about a minute like it didn't actually have to reinstall the game and then launched normally from there.

Uninstall + Reinstall to save the 33 gigs, after u did that, it will ask for around 110 - 111 mgs update, and you saved yourself... (the actual update is 111 mgs and not 33 gigs) and could be saved by, as I said, Uninstall + Reinstalling warthunder.
