Download size varies
Yesterday tried installing WT on a "new" laptop. It gave download size as almost 70GB, which sounded like BS (stoprepage said 37GB). I tried installing again after checking the store page and it was still amost 70GB. Today then, for some reason I tried again and got 34GB, which is less than half of what it was previously. So, what gives?.

have you checked actual folder size

most game stated sizes now are just a head room for a safe install, the actual game size can be less than the stated requirement.

The folder size is 35GB right now. When I tried to install yesterday, I did get the error for insufficient space, because I only had 60GB available at the time. I really don't understand why a game would need twice its size to be available one day and its actual size the next day.

It download ZIPs, not deleting old files upfront, then unzips.

That's why.

But what does that have to do with it giving me different download sizes on different days?

One might have been the regular download, and the other with high res models/textures

That's an overhead requirement most games have as in essence the way they're downloaded puts 2 copies of the game on your computer then deletes one of them. It's weird I know, but that's the most expedient method of updating/installing as it usually massively simplifies the read/write part of the install.

I think I've heard of that one before. And Steam did hit me with a 33GB update today, so I guess I'm ****ed anyways, lol.
