I don't know about you, but I'd rather have more stuff I could play compared to a 400k RP tank that will take me ages to research, now that is boring and repetitive.
It's been almost ten years since launch and I still can't get over how people complain about "boring grind". It's only boring if you don't like the game, at which point why are you even here? It won't get better once you're done with the grind, because by that time you'll switch to grinding for something else. And it's only a "grind" if you focus on the wrong thing anyway.
With the torpedo warning that most ships get, everybody but battleships and barges would weave around your shots then drop depth charges on you if they have them equipped.
Subs of the WWII/early Cold War era were never meant to take part in large naval altercations. They were meant to wait and ambush. They would fit in naval about as well as bombers fit in air right now.
