Played WoT for a long time before giving this game ago. Really enjoyed up to level 3.7 on the tanks but now getting above level 4 seeing BS shots from tanks on the other side of the map increasingly, no line of sight. Is hacking a problem in this game at the higher levels ?

I've played WT for over 1000 hours now, and I can't say I've seen any outright evidence that somebody was cheating (unless it was on a custom server).

What I *have* seen is people get incredibly lucky. Landing snap shots from 800 meters away at 30+ km/h with no stabilizer, sniping someone from 2km away, surviving what seems to be like way more hits than they should, all kinds of stuff. Some people just get lucky. Sometimes you get really unlucky.

Despite the fact that I'm a pretty good player, I have games where I don't get a single kill. Not often, but they do happen. On the entire other end of the spectrum, I have games where I get 20+ kills. Again, not often, but they do happen. It's a combination of skill and luck.

I've seen cheaters but not many. I've actually seen more cheaters in the PvE modes than I have in the PvP modes and that's not many.

ok I see, yea wallhack is really the only thing that could be effective.
well you see it makes so little difference that ive never even been convinced to be killed by a cheater even once ever.

Thats reassuring, the only thing I have suspected was wallhack being used.

Yeah out of the hours i have played(500hours) I have seen one wall hacker.

I really dont see how an aimbot would be really effective in this game, as firing rate and turret traverse are so limited, only wallhack could be of some real use, but thats hard to spot.
so I ask again, please educate me: how do you spot them? what signs give them away?

Not as hard as you'd think.

The most used cheat isnt exactly subtle, Its just a constant flicking of the turret to targets they shouldnt know are there at all. Including targets through solid urban areas and such.

Theres even a few clips from youtubers like Oddbawz where they take the piss out of a BLATANT wallhacker / auto-aimer.

Its not a subtle cheat, its been around for years and gaijin just doesnt give enough of a ♥♥♥♥ to actually get a good enough anti-cheat to do anything about it.

Yeup, this says it all really, hackers live in WT, played since 2014 seen some WTF moments. take it or leave it, it's a ftp game, just don't spend real money on it.

Just had three straight matches 7.7 BR in AB that were infested with hackers. Devs don't seem to care that MPGH has its own section dedicated to WT hacks and EAC is worthless.

They are rare but they do exist, everything from speed hacks, flying tanks (though that's probably a sever problem) and even wall hacks though I've only seen this twice, once when watching a friend play at school on their laptop, shot clean through the German capital, which I won't even try to spell, building end to end long ways and once to me in BR 3.0 on the airfield/shipping map, a T-34 42 fired from (looking at the mini map) the top left side out of bounds to me in the bottom right out of bounds right after I killed one of his team mates whom I assume was his squad mate (both were RB). but they are insanely rare and most of the time they aren't hacking its just the severs lagging out, hell I've been invulnerable in the PZ III M perhaps 2 or 3 dozen times for anywhere from 5 or 6 seconds to 5 or 6 minutes, its insane but its also unfair and I tend to try and leave the front lines if possible so I don't get called a cheater, with how the severs are its getting harder and harder to tell hard to tell plus you have people who just get lucky or are really good at the game which also looks like cheating at times.

a lot of bots and nubs at ranks 1-3. After that you start getting people that know what they are doing and know the maps. If it is AB and they are out of line of sight they may have a sturmpanzer or the like with a high trajectory and can lob them on you since you have a massive marker and distance pointing you out

Absolutely.

Just cause I can't see you from my tank doesn't mean you can't see me from yours.

Couple years ago, my 66 y.o. kid brother and I compared his rig & monitor side by side with mine. We used the same tanks & test mission, and took up the exact same positions. He was using ULQ, and I was using med-high settings.

We found that spotting tanks, especially those at long ranges and in cover, were far easier for both of us to spot on my system simply because my larger viewing area made the angular sizes parts of tanks so much easier to see.

I hope for a big EAC update, otherwise playing this game is useless against cheaters.
