But, if you specifically want to maximize your plane-killing power the HEI-T belt is probably the way to go, especially since it's still 25% AP-I rounds, and with that scary 3k RPM, that's still ~12 20mm AP rounds per second you can desperately throw at ground targets. Not ideal, but not defenseless either.
HE belt are more HE than AP(or no AP) same as AP belt.
Cold war era SPAA's mostly have singular ammunition belt. M163 being one of those exceptions for having one additional belt. It's not efficient to be using two different ammunitions, as switching between them is slow to a point it tends to be fatal.
thats what i said. my ammo selection i said is for ww2 spaas, radar spaas have different setups. if said spaa allows then i always bring short anti-tank belt tho i didnt use my m163 much i cant say how effective its AT belt is
