I don't have it, but I generally take default belts on SPAA; they may not excel at taking down any one target, but they are usually quite versatile and "good enough" against both ground and airborne targets. And cheap, too.

But, if you specifically want to maximize your plane-killing power the HEI-T belt is probably the way to go, especially since it's still 25% AP-I rounds, and with that scary 3k RPM, that's still ~12 20mm AP rounds per second you can desperately throw at ground targets. Not ideal, but not defenseless either.

depends ap more for ground targets and hefi for air, ap can be used on both but hefi is better at killing air targets. based on preference but you can also bring two seperate belts if you want.
i just use the ap belt since it still has every ammo type in it, easily knocks out planes and sides of tanks

if you ask me, this is like asking what nuke to drop on Venice, i don't matter what nuke, its gonna kill them, but instead its, id don't matter what belt you take, its a mini gun

With the Vulcan, it's pretty irrelevant. All the belts/rounds have the same penetration value, it's just a matter of the after effects. Which frankly don't mean much because you have such a ridiculous volume of fire it shreds anything it runs into.

AP belt is most ideal, as it improves your anti-tank capabilities and doesn't really affect your anti-air performance.

If you can't choose or don't want to change in-game. Get default, default belt has both AP and HE in same number(50-50).
HE belt are more HE than AP(or no AP) same as AP belt.

If you want to kill aircraft use the HEI-T belt as it is good for AA and it looks cool too. Also not to be that guy but I've got a sound mod for it that gives it a better brrrt... here is the link: https://live.warthunder.com/post/956518/en/

regardless of spaa, i always bring 2/3 AA duty ammos HEF/HEF-I/HE/HEI-T and 1/3 of my ammo racks for antitank duty AP/AP-I/APT-I , whatever is available for such tasks. ofc this doesnt affect radar guided gun spaas.

Cold war era SPAA's mostly have singular ammunition belt. M163 being one of those exceptions for having one additional belt. It's not efficient to be using two different ammunitions, as switching between them is slow to a point it tends to be fatal.

thats what i said. my ammo selection i said is for ww2 spaas, radar spaas have different setups. if said spaa allows then i always bring short anti-tank belt tho i didnt use my m163 much i cant say how effective its AT belt is
