M26 T99
After buying this tank and the calliope, one only feels like gaijin decided to sh** on anyone who bought the M26 T99 by giving it an exposed ammorack that the calliope does not get. Artillery can kill you from 10m away, a normal APHE round explosion on your turret would cook it. Hell, even an MG has the ability to do that. Why give the M26 T99 an exposed ammorack but not the calliope? Are you trying to give Gaijin supporters the middle finger?

M26 T99 is pretty useless:
Is the most expensive tank in-game
gets a raise of BR just cuz rockets...

From what people tell me, even the calliope can be racked by shooting the rockets. I have never had it happen personally though. I guess its just harder to do it to the calliope given the rockets themselves are at the back of the rocket tubes and most shots/debris don't hit that far back?

In AB they don't.

I kinda thought it was expected to have you risk yourself to blow up as a disadvantage. On the advantages you get a small barrage of rockets.
Not really worth it to have such a crap tank now fighting even more tougher enemies with rockets that won't work most of the time.

I would've been ok if both tanks had exposed ammoracks, but Gaijin decided only the most expensive version should get that. Why would they do that?

If you think about it, both Rocket Racks are exposed, just that nobody aims them: what happens with M26 T99 is that people aim your turret and they hit the racks in the process while in the Calli, people either aim your hull or turret and rockets aren't there thus making them less prone to explosion...

People do shoot at the rocket racks on a calliope.............

Not once did they blow up though. I got arty called on my calliope in one game, and one shell hit the top of my tank and turned the whole rack black. If I was driving the m26 t99 that game instead of my calliope, I would've died.

I find USA tank tree the most hard one to progress!
To reach tier5, i used 6.3 br and skipped 6.7 and 7.0 br, i did used only the g36, t25 and the normal m26, with premium time i was able to get into tier5.
At present day i have the top USA tanks fully upgraded and love it so much especialy the m47 and the 2 m60s.
When i was at 6.3 i would take advantage of the USA mgs to kill planes, so to earn planes as killstreaks to destroy tiger2s and other few tank models that was hard for me to kill with 90mm gun.
If you go to tank models of 6.7 and 7.0 in USA tree its going to be even harder, atleast when we have 7.7 and 8.0 on USA we have the firepower needed to destroy any tank facing in any direction, wich for me at lower tier was a big problem, for example with my m26 everytime i would see a tiger2 coming, my only option was to shoot his tracks to buy some time and run away from certain death, and later trying if catch those of guard with their sides exposed...
Or earnning planes killstreaks to kill them!!!
Tier4 in the US tree its very hard, unless you have the t29 wich came to late for me to buy it.
My advice to you is to skip 6.7 and 7.0 br in the US tank tree, and jump to 7.7 from 6.3 or 6.0 br.
Or buy the t29, either way USA is the nation that i love most, im at top tier with USA, Germany and USSR, the rest of the nations i dont want.

I already have the T29, but I want to play other tanks too. Sticking to one tank is boring.

Eh, I can't play AB anyways. Its RB for me (with tanks anyways) or nothing. AB tanks to me just ruins the experience. Between the floating names above everyone, the hella distracting armor piercing indicator or the random suicidal planes (that one actually bothered me the least) its just not a game mode that appeals to me anyhow.

Still though, never been hit in my calliope and had the rocket rack explode. Then again, I haven't used the calliope much yet as I only recently got it from the halloween sale.

Try playing the M41A1 Walker Bulldog, it's a blast trying to unlock the APDS ;)

you're better off with the M26E1...
You dont have to waste 15k GE to get the calliope AND m26 T99.
