Swedish Beginner Tanks too bad?
Hi all, Im new to the game and was excited that there are other nations than the usual us, ger, rus,.... I decided to start up with sweden cause they are the most unusual faction in a war game.
But Im nearly unable to get a kill with this paper tanks. I try to shoot different compartments of enemy tank and exspecially the ger and rus tanks are nearly impossible to kill. the swedish tank only have 37 mm guns while ger and rus have 75 mm meanwhile. i often place the first hit but it doenst do enough damage to kill the enemy in the very most cases. while my crew gets KO at the first hit...even with machine guns the knock out my gunner.. are the tanks really that bad?
even the sav m/43 (1946) cant penetrate a M10 chassis with its 105 mm gut? thats rediculous....

Get the APDS round, you'll have no trouble penning. Sweden need to be played more as a support role, stick behind your team and use high velocity APDS to pick enemy tanks apart when they're focusing elsewhere.

Always aim for the enemy gunner, then driver and go from there.

Ok, thanks for that advices. I'll try to mention that the next games :)

On this vehicle you should use exclusively HEAT, don't use AP after you've got HEAT. M10 can be destroyed by hitting its track with HEAT

Their early vehicles are great (same as the rest of the tree), they are however bad for less experienced players. Well, not "bad", but difficult to use. It's all about ammo choice and knowing where to shoot. The rest is mostly as usual, except that you're very easy to kill.

Haven't played them in a bit, but I recall the very early ones being fairly competitive vs most tanks in their BR range. The pen and muzzle velocity of the APDS is cool at that BR, but the awful post-pen damage limits its usefulness, IMO.

Keeps playing until you get to PVKV m/43 (1946) at BR 4.0 and PVKV II at BR 3.7 are the best...they can blast through everything
with their slpgr m/43 APCBC HE filled rounds, they are fantastic KV1 and KV-2 Killers, even in frontal armor (Just shoot the gun mantlet on either side of mostly all heavy tanks)

As for the Sav m/43 (1946) at BR 3.0 just use the psgr m/49 HEAT round that can pierce through 240 mm of any armor.

Keep up with Sweden and you will have a lots of kills when playing at 3.7 an 4.0 BR

Just keep in mind, right up until you hit 7.3 BR, you effectively have two playstyles open to you. Those being: A) Long range sniper with no armor, wholly unsuitable for close quarters engagements and B) SPAA with incredibly low ammo pool and poor results against planes but somewhat effective against some enemy tanks if you know what you're doing.

This really hurts your versatility on maps that don't allow for long range sniping, like Sweden ironically.

Found it best to grind the early tier Swedes in short bursts. Don't force yourself to play them constantly, and you'll be less annoyed when you get put on Sweden or Advance to the Rhine for the 4th time in a row.

I Love to play Close Combat Battle in Urban MAP... be sure to shoot first, i usually have a K/D ratio of 3 to 1 in CCB vers 5 to 1 in Long range Sniping

The Strv m/38, Strv m/39, Strv m/40 weren't paper tanks, they entered production and saw service. They were pretty like other early tanks of the Second World War, not any stronger nor weaker. They were reasonable for what they were.
