Ferdinand
Hey, I just want to ask you guys, why is this tank 6.3 ?

It has bad armor (the armor is okay, but it's not sloped at all so it's not good)
It has average ammo
It costs 15k to repair
It doesn't have a machine gun
It's slow af

Just why ?

Because you don't actually know how to play a Tank Destroyer especially a Ferdi?
Considering it's a Long Sniper Tank and you're supposed to Angle the Tank Flat Armor unlike the Ho-Ri which needs to be Elevated due to Slope Armor.
It's also used as a Flanker and if you failed to play the Ferdi then you failed to play any Tank Destroyer of the Previous Tier/BR of German and like all the German Tanks the Stock Ammo is always used.
Learn to play Smart with the TD and learn the Weak point of the Enemy Ranks example Turret Ring, Sides, Lower Front Plate, between the Tracks & Plate of the Front Tank.
It's only Slow if it's Stock and the reason of high Repair is due to High Skill Players > Low Skill players causing the Fee to go up. It's a High Risk/Reward.

Most german TD's in the Ferdinand's line have the same play style- find a good defensive position to snipe from, shot, go behind cover, reload, shoot etc. The Ferdi's armour on paper is decent but obviously mediocre, but at range it gets the job done. Same with the Jagdtiger.

Repair costs are ridiculous obviously, but that's usually par for the course with Gaijin tbh.

It is very much a "You can either pen it or you can't" type of tank. Either tanks cannot pen you and you do great, or they can and you die. Largely you have to watch out for anything British slinging APDS, but US 78mms, most 90mm shells, most Russian 122mm shells and most medium tank 85mms you're safe from unless you're flanked, or someone comes back in a plan and plasters your spot.

In uptiers, you'll have meaner guns such as 105mms and British 84mms to contend with, but your biggest strength will be finding a good spot to take out people.

8.8cm PzGr 39 from a L/71 is NOT average!

Almost every tank has the same ammo on rank IV. Panthers do have little bit worse ammo, JPz 4-5 and leKPz M41 has better ammo. All of the other tanks have the same ammo. So you can say it's average for it's rank.

It might be good for big maps where you can snipe everyone from like 1km+ away, but first of all I am not that type of guy who likes to camp all game and second of all, most of the maps I play are some small-medium maps.

The repair cost is ridiculous still, I have no idea why is it this expensive.

On this kind of BR, every single light tank and maybe even TD has either HEATFS, HEAT or APDS and because of this stupid matchmaking system that's currently in the game, 8 games out of 10 I get uptiered so I have no chance to survive against those "almost modern" tanks even if they don't have this kind of ammo.

Also it has ammo stored basically everywhere in the turret so if you get shot in the turret and they will penetrate the armor (not that hard to achieve), there is almost 100% chance that your ammunition will explode.

that is why you have a line up, different vehicles for different maps and different brs.

I don't just pick one tank and play it regardless of the map and br.

If you only get a few maps that you like with a br that you not bottom in then i would use the ferdi.
if it was a map I hate and i was bottom, with that repair cost i would not use it, i would use one of the other cheaper vehicles in my line up.

I think this accurately shows the state of the game.

This is average german ammo.
