M1 Abrams vs M1A1

Does the M1 Abrams really have better frontal hull armour than the M1A1/M1A2 variant?

M1a1 and a2 versions have the 120mm gun, they are bit slower cause they have more weight, M1A2 stands out for better turrent cheeks protection and has better shell "M829a1"
over all they pretty much the same, but i prefer to use M1 than imp1 or others in some matches at start, M1 gets a bit more speed.
M1A1 and M1A2 are among my most loved tanks to play.
Also at top tier all you need is apfsds no matter what caliber, since you can disable your targets by recking their main guns and jump on them after, 105mm abrams aced are good for that cause of 5s reload.

It doesn't have better frontal hull armour IRL or in game, all four have 395mm (ish) against 105mm M774

Difference composite armor. M1A1 have a thinner composite but it's stronger than what the M1 have. In RHA steel term it's a 380mm compare to 400mm.
