In my opinion, The sound mods in the game make it better such as epic thunder sound mod, they have thousands of hours put into the program such as gun sounds, crew voices, machine guns, echos, and engine sounds. i don't see why gaijin would have to remove sound mods because of some useless E sport tournament u could have simply said use slandered sounds or something like that but what im trying to get at is that if their getting rid of the sound mods they need to make new engine sounds etc. but tbh a lot of people wont be to happy about this decision that gaijin is making.
