I've had games like that, we only had 200 tickets left to victory when the game ended and they gave us the victory. That was huge RP and SL payoff.
Tanks are another issue though. More on a conditional basis. Bombs and rockets are needed for those more often, specifically heavy tanks.
No then why should anyone else be forced to pay that, So what do you do? You make sure you DON'T DIE.
Blame gaijin for that. not the player. Imagine having close to no rewards for bombing stuff in a plane you like. And losing your entire poorass income if you even get damaged.
Now this from the pov of someone who flies bombers regularly. Gaijin has significantly nerfed bomber gameplay in the time I've been playing. For some of the most RP and SL intensive planes at their BR's, the rewards are rubbish (You getting 1 kill, more than equals multiple bases destroyed for me) and large repair costs, and some some the most intensive crews to train. Moving on from that point, apart from the odd 1/1000 when the AI gunners do something, they are generally blind deaf and stupid, even fully upgraded, and manually aiming the guns can be hard if the enemy doesn't sit behind you, and even then, a quick burst of anything rips and tears your plane apart. To the point that bombers all split up at the start of the game because then at least someone will make it. Going formations just gives them multiple easy kills.
Personally, I always try to land after bombing, and usually off the enemy the option to ground pound while I sit on the runway, otherwise I J out after I'm reloaded if I'm the last one left.
Football players ground the ball to run the clock down, basketball players linger in the back court to do the same. Sometimes being passive is the best way to go.
If 80% of your team can not alter the tide of the game by taking out ground and air AI targets, the problem isn't with the bomber in orbit, the problem lies solely with you and your team.
