T-80 should not have thermals

Unless they add the T-80UM in the game (the one with the thermals) the T-80B and T-80U should not have thermals, The T-80UK (Commanders variant) is the one equipped with thermals if they want to add it since they have commander versions of tanks in game.

Rarely works for me there, theres already a post about this same issue and it still hasn't been resolved at all on the forums. It goes to show that Gaijin doesn't seem to listen to it's community. I was going to edit my post here.

U stupid? Russians have the least amount of tanks with thermal sight. Following your logic, we should get rid of thermals on Leopards and Abramses.

What does that have to do with what I'm saying? The T-80 never had thermals, the UK and UM variant did, the T-80B and U never had thermals in real life. If anything Soviet tanks are the easiest to play even without thermals, since Gaijin claims to have 'sekrit dokuments' and knows everything Russian when it comes to tanks and planes, and especially if they want to be realistic (which they do), then what is the problem with adding the T-80UM and UK and give them thermals?

There were T80Bs fitted with thermals, same for T80U. Also, using versions with thermals is a balance decision, as ussr/russia lacked vehicles with thermals. Now they only lack vehicles with commander thermals. And everything else.

But the version in game shouldn’t, even if it was supposed to be the prototype, the version in game is the 1985 T-80B upgrade design [not the true T-80BV even], and shouldn’t be the version with thermals. So not only the modification makes it a single-vehicle prototype, it’s the wrong version of the T-80B.

The T-80U did not have thermals until about T-80UM in about like 1992-1995, I forgot which year. Either the T-80U should have it removed, or the T-80U should be renamed T-80UM, have the thermals modeled on top of the tank, [and change the flag to Russian Federation if they get around to doing that, since it is no longer Soviet].

But yes, in game, the T-80s in their current configuration are unhistorically accurate.

Any MBT without thermals should not be at 10.0 or higher, I think. The same about gun stabilizers. So if you, guys, really want to remove T-80's thermals, be ready to see them at 9.7.

It would be complete trash at 9.7 without thermals, simply because 9.7 is perma sucked into 10.7. You would be getting the same matches, but without thermal imaging.

That is fine, the BR system is completely broken regardless. I'm sure many people who've heard me in the past exactly know what I believe is the only way to fix the battle ratings for all vehicles.
I think all vehicles should be realistically modeled, and they should be balanced; but for now, at least I want to see all vehicles realistically modeled if possible, with hope that one day they'll be balanced. Because balance does not exist above Rank IV - regardless of thermals, we're still talking about a tank that is only 0.7 BR under top tier, with decade more modern vehicles, with superior firepower and reload, even better quality thermals, 1500 HP more powerful gas turbine engines, stronger armor, more crew, more mobility and turret traverse, etc., etc., all with firing ranges of multiple kilometers and the speeds to cover them in minutes, on 2x2km tiny maps that feel like they're just a step over World of Tanks.

Only the insane play top tier for the balance, at minimum could we then at least have realistic vehicles if we can't even have that?
