Yes, I download a lot of stuff (Its Work) and Avast has saved my ass heaps
Why is an ANTI virus being flagged?
Yes this. Windows Defender is more than competent enough to protect your system so long as you're not going to suspicious websites or downloading files from said websites. Even a third party software won't really "save" you in this case anyways.
Avast is the best of the best, and should not be flagged as an untrusted file.
I am having difficulty believing that. Sorry. But I won't derail further.
there are people who make a living downloading computer viruses for other's entertainment.
but if thats the case use an operating system engine and then theres no need
Stop it. If you were seriously doing something like that, you would NOT be personally gaming on the same system. Give me a break. That's not just unprofessional; your company wouldn't allow it and you'd be extremely, EXTREMELY foolish to even try, and no one with a job like what you claim to have would be that dumb.
