It's presumed it's to catch oil/fluids from the engine, but then why only have one?
It's at the rear-end on the hooks used for being pulled/pulling tanks
IRL buckets were used by crew for well, relief.
Also for oil, a container for hand tools, small parts and fittings, etc. Why not model one onto the visual tank model?
I thought the KV-85 was a premium tank as I found the hanging bucket kind of like some sort of tank gadget like we do keychains-
It's historical detail that they add to make them lively.
Premium are KV-1E(add armor) and KV-122
I though it's premium at first too because I already finish till IS-2 before they added KV-85 into the tree.
since soviet tankers didnt have helmets, how they could carry water any other way?
i dont think its to clean the tank between battles.
edit : i checked wiki , its mikulin v12 engine, water cooled.
