There are different weakspots for different M4s - the typical M4 has two big bulges, that aren't angled, which is a great weakspot to hit.
On the M4A1, or what I call the "smooth" M4, you can usually aim for the upper glacis, or hit the mantle, or the gun itself and flank.
The M4A2 is tricky, but it has a weakspot on the middle in the front, where the plates are welded together. Also the machinegun port and a trapshot under the turret both work.
The M4A2E2 is just stupid and there is no way you're getting through the front, unless you're in a tank-destroyer with a high-calibre gun, or have an APDS/APFSDS ammo. The Machinegun port can be penned, but it's trollish and people tend to cover it with the entire Ardennes Forest.
Time and time again I see its either Germany or Russia that suffers, but in my opinion, America suffers the most out of any nation in this game, their vehicles keep getting their BR raised, while Germany and Russia keeps getting their vehicles lowered, when America is the one nation that actually suffers due to BR compression.
Ever wanted to play modern helicopters? Well you get to enjoy the ride of encountering semi-spaded helicopters which have anti-air missiles at battles start, so good luck dealing them with some rockets and autocannon.
m4a1s (round hulls) also have weak spots on their "shoulders" if you see what i mean.
kv2 also works as an overkill solution.
