self sealing fuel tank is a lie
when the xray says ur plane have self sealing tanks but when you play it does not seal at all

It doesn't always work, especially if it's trying to seal with a fire going.

There are not magic.. And trust me ones with out it are far worse, had many a japanese plane burn till the wings fell off, from a scratch lol

Self-sealing fuel tanks don't work the way people think they work. At best, they reduce the amount of fuel loss due to holes in your fuel tanks. The best case scenario is that they do completely stop fuel loss, but it takes several minutes for this to occur.

And has been mentioned, if your aircraft is suffering a fuel fire, self-sealing fuel tanks aren't going to stop the burn until the fire is fuel starved either by burning through the fuel or luck.
