The problem is, most trolling doesn't constitute a literal broken rule as described in the pinned thread. People that know that can toe the line pretty easily and without really stretching the line between interpretation of a rule in a literal sense to using a rule as an understood one.
It's a delicate balance and one I personally don't like crossing. Obvious ones like insults are easier because it is far more black and white. The other issue is most people in this thread are guilty of fueling the fire and engaging. It isn't that hard to just ignore a user that you know is trolling and just move on, but apparently some people are incapable.
Locking this up as it is horribly derailed. Don't fuel the fire in the future.
