Not quite, the Kpz has an autoloader. The Americans chose not to have one.

The Americans and Germans ultimately had different wants / requirements for their future MBT and the project split. Not to mention cost overruns and the disorienting drivers position.

The German Kpz-70 is still a better tank than the US counterpart and works awesome with a Leopard Lineup especially the Leopard 2K.

mbt70 was joint effort by west germany and usa but they couldnt agree on many aspects. both countries started working on different projects. germans on leopard2 and americans xm803 which s pure american mbt70 and then they realized what they thought about missile gun launchers unnecessary and too expensive. meanwhile there were evolutions happened for conventional gun systems, so americans decided to go from scratch and created xm1 which s first abrams. and it answered their question of reliable,non-complicated need of a tank. and came to these days.

funny part is that the snail believed the same for a while. both shared the same reload time of 6s when implemented.

it also believed at one point its reload should have been 10s long instead. the bias inquisition were licking their lips as said change dropped.
