Note: "interesting" and "good" are not necessarily the same thing, lol.
1. The most advanced bombers in game are early 1950s. We don’t even have the B-52 yet, or the Tu-16, Tu-95, etc.
2. That is before considering we don’t have supersonic bombers.
3. B2 is a stealth bomber, meaning we need stealth mechanics. Stealth mechanics probably won’t come until stealth fighters.
4. Stealth fighters are 5th generation jets, modern vehicles that for the most part are post-Cold War. The most advanced jets we have are mid 1970s upgrades of 1950s and early 1960s designs. It probably will be a long time until we get stuff like the F-111, F-22, etc.
5. Stealth bombers wouldn’t be very useful until we get bigger jet maps to hold them. Probably will have to get F-14s and stuff to convince them to invest in bigger jet maps, due to the long ranges of missiles.
6. To have the bigger maps with stealth fighters and mechanics, the game would need to advance to that point. Even progressing at fast rates that ruin gameplay and make the new vehicles unenjoyable — which Gaijin has been doing for the last half decade — would even then take a few years to do. An entire 2-2.5 generations would go by until stealth becomes a major factor, while at the MiG-23M and F-5 currently, the game would need to progress to include the F-14 and later MiG-23s, MiG-25s and F-15s, and hopefully maps to accommodate Mach 3 fighters with multi-dozen kilometer missiles with high hit chances. Then of course there is the F-16s and F-18s, and MiG-29s and Su-27s. Though they probably will skip 90% of the variants like they do anymore, even then that is still probably multiple versions of course. These are just fighters — they haven’t given new bombers post 1953 yet, top tier bombers are still the old bombers. So more development in long range air to ground missiles, air to ship missiles, guided bombs, etc. would need to happen. Then there is just adding the bombers in between, since they wouldn’t just go from a 1950s early jet bomber to one of the most advanced bombers on the planet. Even if they did that, other stealth jets would need to be developed, so you would need to go to stealth fighters, which is after the entirety of the F-14, F-15, F-16, and F-18 series (using US jets), which really all of these could have many many dozens upon dozens of versions but knowing Gaijin, even just ignoring most of them, that still is a couple per version, if not a few. The bombers between the B-2 and Canberra would need to be added. The guided weaponry would beed to be improved for more and more modern vehicles, since current ATGMs are early missiles and only 1 guided bomb is in game, a 1940s German WW2 bomb. Even more advanced air to air missiles would need to be added to counter it. Then stealth mechanics would need to be implemented, and probably would get modern jets such as the F-22 and F-35 considered. Hopefully along the way they would add more larger maps if they were sensical (which is questionable, since they didn’t at all with tanks).
They added the Leopard 1A0, the first post 1953 tank in the game, in early 2015. We didn’t get the M1 Abrams until later 2017, and that is with surpassing 90% of the vehicles we could have. We didn’t get the 120mm versions of the M1A1 and M1A2 until the last couple years. So even rushing to it like they did in tanks, would probably mean a couple years minimum, probably a few years.
not to mention there are many bombers that are older such as the XP-79(everyone will love and hate this one), B-36 and B-52 that should be considered before a more modern design.
You’re missing out on nothing.
However interesting the modern planes end up being (or not, IDK), I would prefer that they take their time building up the trees and not compressing the BRs so freakin' much. I mean, the game is still releasing stuff far faster than IRL vehicles are being designed and built, so we'll catch up or hit Gaijin's limit soon enough.
just add ERA to it, lol
Because Newton's laws are for sissies lol.
