In general, you'll want to use flaps when:
- starting or landing
- turnfighting
- energy-fighting (to intentionally bleed speed so your enemy overshoots you)
- having to fly at very low speeds
If you're flying boom&zoom tactics or energy fighting where you're not comfortable bleeding speed to nothingness, deploying flaps usually is a bad idea.
Takeoff - taking off
Combat - sharper turning
Landing - Landing and bleeding speed
Dont use flaps without a need for them
Hands Out
Knees Bent
Now Flap!!!
