Tier IV Tips for Germany

Firstly I am a average to below average player.

I need tips for playing this tier for Germany. What maps are best and maps to avoid. What shells should I carry (I usually carry 21 of the standard shells then 7 APCR. I tend to notice the urban maps and maps with lots of cover and short distances I am murdered by russian tanks. But on the open maps I do much better.

Also does Germany fair better on Realistic or Sim game modes? If so I would be ready to switch from arcade as I have a preset of old Tier 2 german tanks that cost nothing to repair and could practice using that lineup

My tanks are Tiger II (H) Panther F BFw Jagpanther. I also have a panther A but its repair cost is meh compared to the Panther F so I avoid it.

Germany is much better on realistic, I would suggest using 6.3 Germany instead of 6.7 for Battle Rating as you'll do much better

So I should drop my Tiger II (H) and replace it with the P model? Would that keep me from being uptiered and mauled by cold war tanks?

no, I think there are some down at br 3.3.

get over your fear of cold war tanks, br is based on a vehicles ability not the year it was made.
The things made at the end of the war will eat your kt2h, so forget all this rubbish on years.

your problem is you are now playing in the 6.7 zone,
it has always been a pain of learning.
I gave up for 3 months when i got to it but back then the t10 was 7.7 so my tiger 2h didn't do so well.

6.7 is a learning curve out of this world, you are facing god knows what vehicles and getting bombed by things your spaa can't hit unless the person is good with it.

we all went through this pain....and it is a pain but it does get better with time.

Yes, that's correct. Build a 6.3 lineup and you should have an easier time. Also switch to realistic, arcade has different BRs and Germany tends to do worse in it in my experience.

6.3 Germany is significantly better than 6.7 if you're using King Tigers.
6.7 is good if you're using things like the Jpz 4-5 or Ru-251 not the King Tiger.

This, 6.3 is a pretty strong lineup for Germany, you've got the Ferdinand which is an absolute monster of a TD, the Jagdpanther, Tiger II P, and the German M41 Bulldog.
You're also more likely to get downtiered at 6.3 than 6.7 in my experience.
