The truth is you go up against streamers and 24/7 kids that have been perfecting this for months
They are just good as hell and know every corner of all maps..
If you dont have that time then start getting use to be insta sniped when playing ground battles.
Ground battles is a game mode made for kids that dont want to work..
?
If youre talking about AB, well thats exactly what AB is for, legalized tank chimping
The meta for RB air is to climb climb climb and only come down if youre diving on someone. Really not much more thought goes into it than what goes into spawn flank sniping
Not sure where you get the idea that ground battles are for lazy people considering the battles are more intense, theres actual objectives people bounce around the map to get to, and if you ask me alot more work goes into a match of ground RB by a single person than goes into a match of air rb
Not sure what youre on, but if this is some kind of joke its gone over my head
1: analyze the tanks you're mostly face off, study their armor, their angles and understand where to aim with your tanks, same thing with yours, study the armor of your tanks, to get full advantage
2: study the map, knowing strategic points it's useful when planning on where to move or to give an idea of where the enemy might be
3: use cover, such as walls, rocks, hills, you name it
4: Never rush unless you're quite sure that you wont be an easy target
5: Learn the ammo types and how do they affect
6: dont camp too much, reposition once you deem your position useless
7: Never place too much hopes on your armour, remember that there's always something able to trade shots with you
This.
Always think and stay patient. The opponent wants nothing more than for you to get bored and break cover without a good reason. Keep a close eye on what is going on, look around corners, be wise and make your move in your own good time. You will make plenty of progress but die less.

Garbage.
I am a father and married man in my late twenties, have a full time job and study as well, have hobbies and a life and so on. I don't put a lot of time in to this game on a daily basis nor do I watch youtube or guides to improve. I still end up begin AT LEAST rated on the higher side in my team or mostly one of the first 1-4 players.
I know what he means, the only way to improve it is to play overly careful, accept to drive a little to gain decent flanks and focus on a certain type of tanks to get used to it and know it in and out.
That's pretty much it. What helps immensely is also to use the binocular as often as possible.
Hope this helps.
Ummmmmmmm,.....just no,.... but thanks for trying.
A vast majority of tank RB is knowing the map well enough to know what directions you’ll be vulnerable from wherever you might be and to know where your enemy is likely to be so you can position yourself with advantage over them.
Lol, what.
Learn camera peek, your effectiveness will increase like a 1000 %.
(Streamers hate him! How to improve with this one simple trick)
Also:
If you wanna contribute and don't know what to do just cap one of the points and then defend it from a good position for the whole game. This way you are contributing, you will get surprisingly large number of kills and you will die much less random deaths. This helped me learn the game when I was a newbie, best used with heavy tank.
Also:
Don't leave early, stay to the end - I had games when my first tank did 0 0 0 second tank 0 0 0 and third SPAA 8 kills 2 caps (and finished the game 1st).
Also:
Fun fact - more depressing than finishing constantly last is finishing constantly first. Those who did this jump will understand.

Despite my entire team literally just driving from their spawn to their deaths, I managed to get a spot and do *that* to the enemy team borderline single handedly. Of the 14 total kills my team had, I had 12 of them. I remember the game so well too. I took out the M10 and pushed forward up on the hill so the mountain covered me from their spawn direction so I could look out over what is usually C and B. My team all rushed the single cap in the castle while I focused on knocking out their far flank and keeping the enemy from pushing from that entire side of the map. I only died because I couldn't push out and eventually they overwhelmed my ability to reload.
Each respawn, I killed the guys spawncamping. First I got three. Second respawn I got two more before the game ended. No matter how hard I fought, it simply wouldn't have mattered.
(note that this was awhile ago before the new cheaper SP costs so many players would be out on their first death)
I will try to summarize some pointers but these points are really too general and cannot cover specifics scenarios.
- Learn to identify tanks and their stats/makes (shell types, reload speed, armor weakspots, general mobility/rotation/traverse speeds); so you can exploit their weaknesses.
- Learn the maps so you know which areas are killzones, where the sniping spots are, and the safest routes to objectives/locations you want to go.
- Learn game sense; which is basically applying the aforementioned two points together to form a plan of action. E.g. "On this map, I am going to point A/B/C. I expect Tank X/Y/Z on the flank/head-on. I roughly know the route he will take and know what to aim for when I see him."
If you find this all too boring and complex; well you are not alone. All these newer casual players who bought their single premium vehicle; with no vehicle lineup, keep complaining that they are not having a good time. But know that the reason why the majority of matches are so stompy/one-sided is partially because of them and this disparity in player skill. (It's just the team with more idiots and less sweaty tryhards that loses)
But, if you honestly just use your brain to play the game and you are actually playing to win (competitive) rather than playing to have a good time (casual), you will see some improvement eventually. Avoid top tier (> BR 9.3) if you can as life expectancy there is non-existent due to all the high-tech stuff. All these modern tanks/heli/jets were designed to obliterate an enemy target the moment it has been detected; there is now way you can have fun and engaging gameplay out of authentic modern warfare....
There is nothing wrong with being a casual gamer but tbh, I can't see how anyone who is only a casual gamer and not a tank/aviation enthusiast enjoy Warthunder in the long-run. There is just so much information to learn/understand.
Good Luck!
