I mean it.
One hit kills are common in WT.
Also, when you are killed, the only thing you'll see is the shot that killed you.
You DON'T notice (that much) all the shots that DIDN'T kill you (because they missed; ricocheted; did no damage to you).
So, use natural armor (AKA don't stand in the open, but hide behind stuff).
Learn the weak spots of the enemy and what ammo to use.
Then learn to hit those weak spots.
Also, I'm not sure what game type you're playing, but it may be worth considering trying Tank RB if you haven't yet. In Arcade everyone gets an indicator of whether a shot will penetrate before they even shoot, so surviving for any length of time is... not high. In RB it will be a bit harder to spot your enemies, but armor actually has a chance to work since there's only experience to work on, not a magical dowsing rod pointing out every weak point.
So, I've never watched you play; but here's some tips that will hopefully help you a bit. We all get one-shot; but with some work on your part you can reduce the frequency:
Play from behind your allies - don't be out in front of your team until you are better at dectecting enemies - even then, don't be out front in an inappropriate tank. Keep an eye out for any sign of an enemy player engaging one of your teammates that are out in front of you. If someone in front of you get's killed - don't pull up to where they died, or the same will most likely happen to you. Try not to sit and trade shots with an enemy by choice. If you get ambushed, or caught in the open, you may have no choice; but if your're the one initiating combat with an enemy who's not aware of your presence: think before you shoot. The moment you fire, if you have not disabled their gun/gunner or turret rotation - know they have a round ready to shoot back at you in their gun - and their shot just might be good enough to one shot you. Many players have studied the tanks they fight against - and they know where the ammo is, and can have a very good idea whether or not they can hit it. When you stop somewhere - say to setup an ambush- don't sit and wiggle/make a racket - those will get you detected. Set up the best you can; then use the mouse-look and/or binos - they'll let you look all around w/o moving. Another great use of mouse look is to look around corners before you pull out in the open/cross streets. These are just the tip of the iceberg, there's a LOT to know, and learn, to play this game even halfway well.
Considering you fail to give any info what Tank and Ammo you were using and what Tank you were shooting at.
L2P with all the Info everyone has posted instead of acting like this because you just show the issue you are having is indeed a L2P issue against players who are more Experience in game with better knowledge on how to kill and counter.
It's going to be very hard for you to play the game if you want to ignore that the game requires a player know what they are doing.
We do not "fire at a tank". We fire at certain specific locations on a tank, that are different tank to tank. We know in advance, from studying the tanks we face in detail, whether or not we have a very good chance of disabling them in a manner so they cannot shoot back at us. We do not shoot without thinking - except for "surprise" engagements where plans go out the window.
I've been there myself - so I know exactly what it's like. Nothing new under the Sun here.
My options? 1) tolerate it, 2) devote myself to learning the game so I could do better, 3) quit.
I picked #2. You make your own choice.
A member of my extended family chose option 1. They've been playing over 4 years and have a 0.3 K/D.
You mean nobody of us experienced players have been experiencing what you are experiencing now?
Again and again?
It DID happen to us. It probably happened to almost everybody in here. And then we realized that plinking away at the enemy like in the other game was not the way to go. Listen to the people here.
