How to play the M22 Locust?
Jesus Christ, I know someone's going to "you don't play the locust" or "it's a troll vehicle" but I had to research it for the M24 Chaffee and now it's taking up a spot on my bar and I wanna know how to play it. The inclusion of the M22 Locust where it is makes no sense to me in the first place. The tree goes 2.3 (M5A1), 2.0 (M22), and then 3.7 (M24) why not switch the M22 and M5A1? I mean I would figure the M22 Locust would at least get some sort of advantage for being a paratrooper vehicle...

Anyways, enough complaining. If there a way to play the M22 Locust? My current strategy is really just running for the objetive positions and hoping I can capture one, but that doesn't work 90% of the time because I can easily get smoked by anything out there, especiallhy by those damn German T-34s.

I honestly skipped the M22 and went for the M24, but like any other tank around that B.R, go flank with it, shoot for the crew members and critical components, but it's harder with only solid shots.

I love the locust, hella fun. You play it like any other light tank in the murikan line. It's speedy, low profile and packs a punch with it's ap round (asusming you know where to aim), what more can you want?
It's no different than all the other speedy light tanks with ap rounds, just shorter.

Pretty sure it can drive under and lift a Maus.
Alright. I guess I've had this misconception that the 37mm was useless at this level. I'll try being a bit more guerrillay

37mm with AP can pen the side of a Panther from 500m away. (Or more, I forget.)

I drove a panther on top of it, I'm not sure I could say my panther was lifted more like it was crushed into the ground.

Another quick question, is it worth researching the M4 at all? Or should I just skip to the M4A2

both m4 and m4a2 are dissapointing.

Just get the m18 and have fun with it.
I had so much fun with it that the amount fun I had should be illegal.

Now the M4a3 on the other hand is basically a kv2.

The 105mm variant? I don't have the tech tree on hand so I can't tell if there's another M4A3 but I got the M4A3 (105) and once I got those HEAT rounds that ♥♥♥♥ kicks ass

Try using it as your highest BR tank in the lineup. 2.0, 1.3, 1.3 With the MM you can get some fun battles. You can also see that 3inch gun and smoke it with your crafty speed. :steamhappy:

Yes the 105, it is the kv2 except unlike the kv2, it has actual gun depression. Just living firiing it and hearing that PFOOF! Then "vehicle destroyed" every time.

Either way, up to 4.7, there isn't much to look forward to, it's simply the chaffee and the hellcat (m18) that take the stage in tier 3, in front of hte boring 76mm shermans.

Because the M22 is better? It handles so much better and it has an amazing profile.. its a great vehicle to get behind enemy lines with and flank the enemy.

I have no idea how it plays in Arcade Battle, but in Realistic Battles its hands down my most favorite American Tank. I just wish the gun would be better, and hope that after the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ M24 there will be another tank like it.

How do you even use the M18 GMC to kill armored targets?

Try Nu's video on it. He has gameplay examples as part of his reviews:
https://youtu.be/tRB0vktrwh8

Unfortunately its Arcade Gameplay.. and thats one of his worse reviews due to the fact that its one of his earliest reviews. Skip the match in which left the audio in from the other dude, just skip a bit forward to the next match, where he talks a bit more about his decisions and why he aims where. (later reviews have much more of that)
