What's better AP or APCR?

AP for the most. Solid AP generally has better post penetration damage (depending on the size of the shot) and good enough penetration for the most. APCR is fine as long as the targets armor is flat, but post penetration is just about the worst (don't expect it to do much except for what the round directly hits). Slight angles will cause APCR to bounce in most cases.

APCR does a ton of damage, But is bad against sloped or angled armor. If you're fighting something with flat armor, APCR will do a lot of damage. As a Jumbo driver, I use APCR alot, Especially against Tiger 1's.


AP is a more Reliable round.

APCR is terrible, NEVER use it.

APCR: highest pen, doesn't work beyond mid-range, easily defeated by sloped armor, and has no filler
AP: second highest pen, best at long range, mid-range performance against sloped armor, no filler either

though as far as pen goes, derp-guns and only derp-guns will pen the most with HEAT

Only use APCR if you know you will face enemies with flat armor at your AP can't pen
