Why would you want to do this? You can just go play whatever vehicle you want whenever.

exactly
there is no benefits to be gained by restarting, apart from restarting the grind

Honestly I don't see why anyone would want to do that. Why go through that suffering again?

Like, I'm THIS close to getting rank 6 jets for japan, but I only have 1 day of premium left, nowhere near enough SL and those Sabres just drain money I'd spent on the rank 6 jets.

I certainly won't go through that again.

What's the point of going back to nothingness to start the whole tech tree again from scratch?
It sounds so time-wasting as most people consider the grinding process in WT to be sluggish and hellish, why bother to going back to 0 again tho?

why don't you keep the progress to a new vehicle in your current tech tree?
or try to unlock stuff in a new faction?
You're not really locked in to factions and branches (Soviet-Air, German Navy, etc.) Aside from the T1 Freebie, there is really no real benefit, no modifiers, or fully skilled crews or anything like that! That choice they give you in the beginning has confused new folks for years, but all it really determines is what free T1 premium you'll get as a gift once you get to a certain point.

I would just say play some of the other factions for fun and give it a try. If you want that T1 freebie so bad, then throw some money at it, or wait for a sale to come up (then they become super cheap), or even more of a wait, but does happen, wait till something allows you to get it for free, which does happen from time to time.

And if you want that sensation of unlocking new vehicles quickly, just wait till a new faction or branch come out, which is more frequent these days.
