No fps limiter setting?
So my problem is that ive got too much fps 200-220 to be precise with max settings and lets just say my gpu gets unnecessarily hot (81c) i dont need that much fps in this kinda slow paced game. Enabling Vsync doesnt really help because my monitor is 165hz still too much fps for a game like this. So is there a fps limiter somewhere hidden in the settings that im not seeing? (sure there is 3rd party applications that can limit fps but will most likely end up flagging the anticheat so no thanks.)

Sure it is within normal operational temps max is 83c before the card starts throttling but id rather not have the fans spinning 2500rpm (quite noisy imo). Games like RDR2 which are way more heavy on the graphics get my card to 78c MAX.

If you havent overclocked your GPU, youre not getting "too much fps"

Just because your monitor can only output 165hz doesnt mean that all you should aim for is 165fps, itll still be more accurate with higher frame rates.

If you still dont care, increase graphics settings till it drops the framerate.

Or, undervolt the card.

I didnt mean too much fps in that sense i meant just for me i can deal with 100 fps if the temps were lower so i find it just weird that a game thats been out for so long doesnt have a basic fps limit slider. And ive got all settings on max. I cannot drop the fan curve at all because it will jump straight to 83 and the card will start to throttle, and the fans on my card are quite loud at high speeds.

Then that still leaves undervolting the card, and setting a more aggressive fan curve.
I forced Vsync on mine so it stays at 144 of my monitor refresh -_- it generates so much heat (mainly the CPU and not the GPU) at 200+ FPS which I don't really need.

yes and no...

there are two related parameters in the machine.blk (limitFps:r=0 and forcedFrameTimeSec:r=-1) but you can't change them (or rather changing them will be ignored by the game since those parameters are not in the list of allowed changes).

if you are using a nVidia gpu you should be able to limit the fps in the nVidia control panel and while AMD did have a similar feature (frtc - frame rate target control) it seems as if it has been removed in the 2020 drivers...

...and there may be other ways by disabling freesync / gsync but i've no clue how that works 8D
