If you havent overclocked your GPU, youre not getting "too much fps"
Just because your monitor can only output 165hz doesnt mean that all you should aim for is 165fps, itll still be more accurate with higher frame rates.
If you still dont care, increase graphics settings till it drops the framerate.
Or, undervolt the card.
Then that still leaves undervolting the card, and setting a more aggressive fan curve.
yes and no...
there are two related parameters in the machine.blk (limitFps:r=0 and forcedFrameTimeSec:r=-1) but you can't change them (or rather changing them will be ignored by the game since those parameters are not in the list of allowed changes).
if you are using a nVidia gpu you should be able to limit the fps in the nVidia control panel and while AMD did have a similar feature (frtc - frame rate target control) it seems as if it has been removed in the 2020 drivers...
...and there may be other ways by disabling freesync / gsync but i've no clue how that works 8D
