The M60 Patton any good ?

I'm almost halfway done reasearching the M60, and I got to thinking if it was any good because the stock APDS rounds and HEATFS rounds make me feel like i'm gonna regret researching it let alone use up all my lions buying it. Does the M60 Improve upon the M48 in any way all sorts player input I would very much appreciate.

I don't have it myself, but I can already tell you it's definitely better than the M48 at stock. It loses the APHE unfortunately, but gets the M68 gun which gets some very high penetration shells. However, the M68 / L7 guns are pretty inaccurate at stock, so there's that. For me though at 7.7, the real star of the show is the M103, that thing is a beast.

It's a decent backup to the M103. Not a great one, but it's usable. It's not much different than, let's say, a Leo. Same ammo (plus a smoke shell), a bit less mobile, but gets a bit more armor and a .50 roof gun. Less armor than the M48, but that really doesn't matter much at that BR. You want just enough for an SPAA not to pen you frontally, in a world of APFSDS and HEATFS, armor does not matter much anymore. In exchange you get better penetration on the HEAT-FS, a whole 80mm more @ 0°, which helps a bit against T-54, T-60 and T-10M. But overall, the improvement is not by much.

Good backup for the m103 (get the m103 ASAP if you haven't already), but the stock grind wasn't bad. The APDS wasn't actually as useless as I thought it would be and the HEAT FS goes through everything, especially since nowadays 7.7 is nothing but downtiers

After the nerf the M60A1s APDS you're going to have a very ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Grind. So you might want to pass.
