Type 90 or Challenger?

I have the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2A4, now I want to get something else, which one would be better as of right now and for the future (Like going against the possible future additions: M1A1, T-80, etc....)?

i heard the challenger is trash and the Type-90 is Kami-sama so i'd go with the Type-90.

Yeah, I have been seeing a lot of negative threads about it, what is all the negative stuff about though, is it the turret armour, the shells, the lower part of the tank armour?

You get hit in the turrent almost all the time you lose 1 crew member, all sorts of RNG bad luck happens to the turrent aswell like trapshoting heat shells resulting in instant death etc...

As far as public estimates go, the Challenger has less armour than it should as well, and might actually have the turret design of a completely different tank hense why its armour gets worse towards the bottem.

Everyone says the challenger is trash, but meanwhile I see them casually get 8 kills in Simulator Battles. From what I understand, it isn’t as much of a point and click adventure as the others but rather an ambush tank or a sniper tank; British Cold War tanks tend to be built very defensively rather than offensively.


Personally I started grinding Russia as soon as they started first adding tanks like the Leopard 1; I knew Russian Cold War tanks were very good. Now that the T-80 is a future possibility, I am grinding hard in rank 6 so I will be ready for when it comes; I don’t think people fully understand that it is a better armored T-64B with an engine double its power; it will drive like a leopard 2k while having the armor to render the 105mm L7 unreliable (it was declared obsolete in real life because of the introduction of the T-80), along with having the same 125mm gun that not only shoots APDS-FS but as well as missiles out of it’s f***ing barrel. And because of it’s era, it may get it’s depleted uranium APDS-FS like the M1A1. (People were excited about the Abrams, but meanwhile I was just secretly hoping for the T-80.)

IF they make the end of the Cold War, 1991, the ‘cut off’ date, which I have a feeling (and kind of hope) they will for a while, then potential top tier tanks I can imagine would be the Type 90, Challenger (it might get ERA when newer tanks are added), AMX-40, Leopard 2A4 (I think there is a version with a slightly better armor package, and it currently doesn’t have its historical shells that tbh if it had, it would crush everything currently in game), M1A1, and the T-80 (A,B, and U).
Also, just to throw out, if they figure out how to add tanks from nations that probably couldn’t have their own full tech trees or whatever, other vehicles that defiantly would be top tier but probably won’t be in game for a while would be the S. Korean Type 88 and the Israeli Merkava tanks (some Israeli tanks are already in game, so it might be more likely).

For Brits they will prolly add an apex vehicle at 9.7/10.0 rather than leave the challenger if they cut off at 91. I expect to see the Chally 2 proto (Chally 2 turret on a 1 hull) or a Vickers 7/2 which is similar to the 2A4, also I would probably expect a leclerc prototype for French top.

To be honest as long as the prototype existed I'm fine with it, and I bet Gaijin will be stubborn and not give the Chally its lowest estimated armour values, so it will probably be needed. Meanwhile I think it would be nice for France to go as high as every other nation, also, I haven't looked at the C1, what is it equivelent to, also what about the B1 Centauro?

With a speed of 108kmph, the B1 would be incerdible for top tier. If they added it in Ita I'd buy so fast, basically a 906 but double the speed and with a bigger gun. Meanwhile, BTR 70 Zhalo would be nice, maybe even a BTR 80A.

Yeah, those were tanks I were wanting to see (first 2 were more of a tank destroyer, basically an armored car with a really big gun.). Recently since the 906 has been moved to 80, and in SB it only fights top tier, I have been trouble figuring out how use it. Since using it as a light tank usually gets you killed, I actually started thinking of the Zhalo: definatly not as fast, but it was a fast, lightly armored tank with a small turret with a auto-reloading 85mm gun; I actually found out the best way to use the Object 906 (in SB) was to use it as a Cold War style TD.
Another cool vehicle to see, wouldn’t be top tier but more like at the 8.0-9.0 range, the BRDM-1 variants with ATGMs mounted on them; imagine driving an armored car with Missiles. They probably could add the BRDM-1 itself too, the late versions with the 12.7 and 14.5mm HMGs, it might be a fun armored vehicle at low tier?
Also I think other nations used armored cars and stuff for ATGMs, I think the Japanese even experemented with Jeeps with ATGMs.

BMP2, Scorpion light tank, BTR90, Bradleys, Warriors, AMX10s, Marders, Weisels hell even a HMV TOW2.

BMD-2 would be nice, and there are the BMDs too. I heard of the Marders, they would be cool, and I heard of the rest discluding the HMV but I am less sure about statistics and era; I don’t know as much a about late Cold War, and expecially post Cold War but that doesn’t apply I don’t think.
