Is it weird that I am most excited for the M48A2GA2?

I don´t know... I am mostly looking forward to the M48A2GA2... The TAM seems... Eeeeh. And the premium Leopard 1A6 VT-5 is a complete joke. The T-80B also isn´t really that hype inducing for me aswell as the BMP-2... Nothing new for Italy too and I´m not that excited for helicopters aswell. Also, no new planes afaik... The M48A2GA2 will be the first thing I´ll research once the update drops.

so? that only means they dont lose their reload speed if they lose a crewmemeber, thats a big plus over the leo.

It means the prem leopards reload is unusually fast. Aced it's the same speed as the type 90s which uses an autoloader for the same gun.

autoloader or not the result is the same, a fast reload, and obj906 has 4.3secs with a not even aced crew. so maybe Gaijin put it low for balance, anyway, if it shows to be OP ,it will get nerfed, so dont worry about it.

1 more thing, the point with an autoloader is not to speed up reload times, the point is to reduce number of crew memebers needed to man the tank, some tank do get a faster reload time, but it isnt the main objective with an autoloader. and a good experienced human loader can do it in 5 secs ill bet, standard is about 6 seconds.

Just because you could doesn't mean you should. You really don't want a german M60 RISE or amx-30B2, those kinds of tanks are pretty dam useless currently.

At T5 the Bundeswehr M48 actually fulfills a meaningful role.

I think that was more the case for The T-models and AMX-13, efficiency was an integral design aspect of those. For modern western MBTS like type 90 or Leclerc I'm pretty sure it was designed to be superior to a human loader. At optimal conditions a type 90 can reload in 3 seconds.

We also found out that having 1 less man to work around the MBT is a significant disadvantage. The 3 man crew has to do alot more work and It reduces overall crew efficiency.

Type-90s autoloader is fast ill give you that,2-5 seconds reload depending on the guns position.
but for Lerclerc,thats debatable, as Leclercs rof is 12 rounds per minutte(5secs)
if they build it for speed,they failed.

yes obviously the workload is going to increase when you cut away 25% of the crew. that couldnt have come as a surprise to anyone, really.
