You can pull up a vehicle's stat car to view repair cost, SL, and RP rewards, then switch your research tree to RB (bottom right of the research tree) and then check the stat cards again. The amount of SL and RP rewards will change depending on the mode.
Are you talking about the player profile level EXP? or the research progress and needing RPs known as research points (commonly mistaken as EXP)
Anyhow, the answer to your question is no. Arcade Battles gives more RPs and SLs (Silver Lions) compared to Realistic Battles.
Proof of this is that you can see a lot of AB players reaching level 100 quickly while they even get to own a jet fast compared to RB players.
The benefits of RB gives you double rewards for achievements (x2) for kill as 1 RB kill is equal to 2 AB kills but for RP and SL, no it doesn't apply.
I think that already answers your question from what I stated above. No matter how good you are in realistic, Its even slower compared to Arcade to grind straight to higher tiers. There's a lot of factors that brings into this.
War Thunders states that Realistic Battles may prolong up to an hour battle. This is untrue most of the time since the match ends quickly.
-Your teammates crashes
- Enemy team crashes
- Teamkillers
- Disconnection
- Accidental crashes
- Ramming
- Air superiority
- Objective competion
Oh and Realistic Battles have less players and it may take a minute or two to join another match. Worse comes to worse it takes 5-10 minutes..
There's only one reason why the match are prolonged. Its because of those last man standing trying to stay alive as long as they can wasting everyone's time.
For Arcade Battles, here's why its faster to grind in Arcade Battles
- Respawn
- Spawn in all you want
- Faster queue times
- Many players play this mode
- Battle takes longer since you can spawn in as much as you want
Repeating all these steps for both AB and RB, its obvious that grinding in AB is more efficient.
RB will reward you with more RP and SL for the same action (ex- shooting down a plane or destroying a tank)
But AB allows fast match turnover as matches generally don't last as long and queue times are shorter so you can get more matches in during the same amount of time.
If you're always in the top 5 for arcade you'll probably earn more RP and SL simply because you have more time in-battle and to do more things. While in RB you'll earn more for the same actions, but matches can run pretty long. There's also more of a learning curve to entering RB in my opinion.
RB also has the following downsides : while it gives more RP / SL for the same action, in a game you simply can't even get near as much actions as in an AB game. Planes in AB are plenty, in RB it's a 1-1 match, if somebody is quite good and shoots down 4 planes, that means that for 3 people there won't even be a plane to shoot down. As for ground targets, you'll run out of ammo quite soon, while in AB it's in-air reload the fact that you have to go back to the airfield and then go back to the action in RB will seriously limit your rewards.
On a sidenote, as far as repair costs are concerned, things start to change, some vehicles get so horrendous repair costs in AB that you either have to perform very well just to break even or simply have to chose another vehicle to play, though it concerns mostly tier 5 spaa and some tier 4/5 bombers.
