So blame Gaijin, not the mod dev.
It's just excuses for that slimy dev to put the mod behind paywall ''omg i can not release because gajiin keep updateee and i can only keep updating the paid version of my mod''
You really are naive, he's literally charging money for sounds that aren't even recorded by him, no excuses and nothing to do with gajin not giving him tools because the mod is working if you pay.....
Except Fury Thunder, a free sound mod,is having the same issue as Epic Thunder is, and that issue is what I mentioned before.
Gaijin taking forever to release the sound kit.
That, and the paywall is only for the early access beta versions of the mod, once the mod is in a "complete" enough state, he'll release a free version like before, while keeping the paid section for beta testing and so on, you're basically paying to get him access to sound libraries and tools to change the sounds within them to fit the game better.
And no, the mod doesn't work if you pay (And you can't pay for it at the moment anyway, as Jack has disabled his Patreon until he can actually put something out I.E, when Gaijin releases the kit.) because Gaijin updated the sound engine again, and broke all the sound mods...again.
Also, naive?, No, I know that the sounds weren't "made" by him (As I mentioned sound libraries) it's extremely common to use sound libraries, even some AAA game companies do it, and a large number of indie devs do too, it's cheaper/easier than making every individual sound if you don't have access to the required objects, and also the reason you hear "stock sounds" appear in multiple projects.
This doesn't mean he just took the sounds and slapped them straight into the game, there's still work involved making it actually sound good in game.
If you don't like the idea of paying for a sound mod, just use Fury Thunder instead, it's just as good as Epic Thunder (Once they can actually update it atleast)
