About any nation got good 2.3 lines, u can really go with whatever u want They are all good and competitive imo, only china i dont know about... Just got 1.3 there.
Tier 1 (until 2.3 BR) - it does not really matter as most tanks are paper thin and can be KOed with one shot. I find Russian, German and Italian tanks better - they are have fillers in shots. The best tanks in this tier are BT-series, Panzer C/E/F1, Italian stock, M3/M5. Note that vet players know how to use 20mm panzers (like Panzer II) that can be extremely OP.
Tier 2 (roughly from 2.3 to 4.3 BR) - it starts to show the differences among nations:
US: Decent all rounders (Sherman) with filler shots (75 mm gun). Sherman's frontal armour is very good at this range. If you like to snipe, M10 is god like. AA so so.
Russia: You must advance and charge with T34 as they are made for brawl. They do extremely well at close distance due to the speed, fire power and sloped armour. All T 34 at this tier are quite OP honestly. KV1 series will also give you a lot of fun - you just need to know how to angle it. If you want to play SPG (esp since RU has some good ones at Tier 3, you should practise with SU 76, and SU 122. AA sucks.
Germany: Very comfortable for people who like to snipe. All tanks and SPG with 75mm guns are good to use. Most of the time, armour doesnt exist (except StuG maybe). You will be surprised how good PZ III M is.
GB: Difficult to use because the shells have no filler and tanks have no reverse gear. It needs love. The guns have good pen but post-pen damage is lacking. Churchill is fun to play given that you manage to drive it to the frontline without being bombed.
Tier 3 (around 4.3 - 5.7)
US: Shermans' armour start to become a joke and you need to play very carefully - cannot afford head-ons. The 76mm gun is decent and you must always use speed and gun depression. M18 is fun to play but in AB that is the number 1 target for planes. M24 is surprisingly good at its BR (3.3). You will like M6A1 and Jumbos, but when it is a full uptier the armour will not be as strong.
Russian: T-34 57 and 85 are both very good at their respective BR. It is just that for the latter, armour is a lot weaker due to enemy's big guns. KV 85 and IS series are all very powerful, given that you dont over charge and make use of the reverse speed. SU 85 is good too (always hide your left side). You need a lot of patience to play KV2 and any SPG with 152 guns as reloading is like 30 sec.
Germany: You must use the SPGs. Opened top ones are with tier 4 guns but are weak to planes. All Jagdpanzers are OP as long as you dont expose your sides. You will start to use Tiger and play it like a medium for sniping (dont trust its armour, even angling wont save you). AA are op as hell.
UK: You need a lot of love to get hold with it although 17pdr guns are very powerful. Learn 17 pdr guns well as almost all tier 3 tanks use 17 pdr guns and they can actually kill.
The more you play, the more you will realise things like speed, gun depression and even repair cost matter more LOL.
