T-34-85 add-on armor
Some tanks can take the advantage of add-on armor well, such as T-34-76 or M4A2 Sherman. But I'm not sure if it is useful on T-34-85 (ZIS-S-53), or if it just reduces the mobility and does not really improve the tank's survivability.
If you have any experience with it, I would be glad for a hint.

Its useless but it looks cool and it doesnt slow it down that much anyway taht it makes a difference.

It slows you down about as much as it protects you. As in there is no noticeable effect outside of a handful of very rare situations.

Wouldn't such things as extra track armor added onto a tank also act as a def against Heat rounds since they are in a way spaced armor? They only have solid pen vs the first thing they hit so anything that'll catch it first will eat the pen and then you only need your armor to handle the TNT filler blowing up on top of you.

Plus like someone said they'll only help on the rare occasion but when that occasion comes around your happy it helped bounce or eat that round, right?

P.S. It does also add a nice rugged look to some tanks which to me can help at times for said tanks to blend into some areas easier, throw off the obvious tanks outline just a bit.

The high BR T-34's are glass cannon's. Don't rely on the armor a bit. Use your mobility.
