This is a fundamental problem with the game
Literally, Americns have ZERO advantage over someone who has also climbed to the side as just about EVERY faction will behigher than you
that's it. he is the most op plane at it's tier( with p-63, my opinion)
you won't find highly historic acuracy here, especially in a free to play game where the goal is money, and where the devs attention are not solely to planes who are not even finished, they want to do to much, they are the jack of all trades, master of none.
When you start a fight you'll very quickly lose altitude, unless you're doing proper boom an zoom passes. Even then as a fight progresses altitude is traded for speed, it's unavoidable unless you disengage and climb some more.
With that in mind, since you're starting at only 5300m you're going to very quickly find yourself fighting at sub 4000m getting lower, which is where you don't want to be against a yak. This is especially true in a P-51, because the P-51 isn't actually that great.
Edit: Many Russian planes have very good climb rates at low alt that drop off quite a bit at higher alt. And the P-51 isn't anything special when it comes climb or acceleration or anything really. It's just reasonably fast and holds energy okay.
