Is war thunder cross platform?

Befriended a guy by replying with "AAAAAAAAAAAA" to someone saying "Can I get an Hoo Rah", I asked for his steam name and got a very Xboxy Adjective-Noun name, searched his name on Xbox and found his profile and low and behold he has war thunder on it.

My question is

Why is this cross platform? It seems wildly unfair that Xbox and PC players play against and with eachother. I used the British on my console time and found it to be very very hard to use, made the switch to pc and found the game to be much easier than what I experienced before. But I get it's because of player numbers and stuff but look at Warframe, a F2P game with no premium subscription and it's much more played and successful than war thunder, I'd love to be able to do stuff like earn premium vehicles and then sell them for GE to get cosmetics and such

Yes, PC, Xbox and PS4 play together in matches.
PS4 players have * in the name and Xbox players have @live.

You know, you can use M+KB on the XBox, right? It helps a lot.

you can use M+KB on ps4 too and i even heared from many that at least in tanks and simulator flying they favor their controler to do so

War thunder shouldn't be cross platform due to the fact that PC players are typically put at a clear advantage with a mouse and keyboard, which is typically agreed upon as a better and more precise way to aim shots whilst controllers are typically more suited to things like driving

oh wow, I never knew they both had m+kB support. Still a large portion of people may not have an extra keyboard and mouse to plug into their console.

clear advantage is an overstatement. They could be using M+kb as it is possible, and not to mention just because it was easier for you from controller to m+kb, doesnt mean every is this way. I know people who prefer controllers over m+kb because they do better....besides the option to use controllers on PC has been around for a while. So these types of arguements are essentially debunk.

They could be using a mouse and keyboard but there's a few things that influence this

Most people who own a ps4 do not own a desktop pc and in turn do not own a mouse and keyboard, people that do own a mouse and keyboard may not even be able to use it due to the distance people have from the console in typical scenarios. There's a reason to why most e-sport shooters are exclusively played on kB+m because it allows a higher skill ceiling and in turn allows you to become better.

What I'm trying to say is that using a keyboard and mouse is typically going to put the person at an advantage over someone using a controller, in most situations, yes someone may prefer the controller but someone who is skilled on controller is put at a clear disadvantage when against someone who is equally skilled but on a kB and mouse, it's just the better of the two options.

I understand where you come from. But that just means it is personal preference，that they chose the ps4/xbox over pc，because of the controller option

Idk，guess point is，crossplatform technically has been around for awhile，with the induction of using controllers on pc games. This is nothing new，and can understand where there is some advantage. but ive seen people with @live in their name do really well. Yes they couldve used a m+kb but the likely hood of that after how many people done really well and them all using m+kb is really low.
Like racing games.id rather play them on an xbox controller and do much better whereas some could do better and prefer mouse and keyboard
