Simple as that.
I wonder if anyone has added up what this game can actually cost if you pay to win everything right out to its limits, all crews planes everything.
Have to sell the house to pay for it lol !
Ive seen people say, oh you can level right up everything for 400 bucks, but that is so not true.
Take into account, a player who might buy EVERYTHING, boosting research, every premium plane there is in every nation, we are absolutely talking thousands and thousands of dollars.
Now, there are heaps of people with more money than sense, so it stands to reason Gaijin is worth literally millions of dollars, just at a guestimate.
Ask yourself how many people you have seen in premium planes, how many times one has shot you down, there are folks out there that do buy everything, that have zero patience to grind.
Gaijin rely on this to make there big money, its a clever business plan, even if over priced, no doubt about it.
But share there book work and financial data, on a company not floated on the stock market with shares, not likely, and a Russian company, who knows what Russian tax laws are like.
Russian and Chinese anything are not really known for transparency about anything at all really !
Such would not be public info, afaik.
I won't doubt your provided reason, but I think "most people" would have a much... different angle... for requesting such info.
Huh... learn something new every day. Was never aware of this until you mentioned it... But seems legitimate enough :?
At points, that was more true than not. Back in 2012, 2013, --yes-- you could pretty much get "end-game" content for a nation with $100-200. Also worth noting that there were --only-- airplanes, and that the tech trees at the time were probably only a third (perhaps less?) of what they are today.
By the time that you multiply out for the sheer quantity of content, (Aim for the high side, and say current trees are 4x what they were), $800 to reach end-game stuff (approximately 160,000 GE, for one aircraft nation).... sounds "about right".
FWIW- Gaijin has ALWAYS been a for-profit. They have never masqueraded as a charity or NFP. So the idea that they're "out there to make big money" and "have a clever business plan" should surprise... nobody.
Also FWIW, their "over priced" stuff, while I will concede that it can be expensive, at full price tends to be less than the competition, and that Gaijin has historically been very good about offering very-nearly-global-everything-included 50% off sales twice a year.
Yes you can use the GE to convert, but like you said, people may say you can just buy everything flat out but you can't, still have to earn the RP in the first place to convert it.
