Also avoid getting too close to the action and try to have your side armor behind solid cover as much as possible. Maybe look at the tanks you struggle against in the hangar's armor viewer, use the penetration simulator to try and find weakspots.
Not much else to say with this thing. It's as simple as "go to overwatch point or chokepoint, see stuff, bounce their shots or have your enormous interior eat up most of the pesky HEAT-FS' damage cone, then click on stuff and get kills".
Well i mean today i came up against an fv4202 who ate 3 direct shots (turret, turret ring, upper glacis from an elevated postion) who then just shot me through the front taking out all of my gun crew. and this was at reasonable close range (less than 500 meters).
Use bushes to cover your frontal combat chamber and connecting border between hull and combat chamber. No bush no survival. With bush you are quite tanky even in 7.7.
Do not expose your lower hull easily, if caught in open and reloading at mid-close range, shake your entire vehicle, it will give them hell time to pen you if they are focusing on your face (GG if they know to aim at your crotch).
Jagdtiger is very survivable from frontal shell penetration, if got penned, torched or immovable, don't give up, calmly repair, ask for help point out enemy location, adjust your angle(tracked), reload and return fire. Even the 7.7 will take quite a few shots to kill you, and that's a lot of time they wasted on you if your teammates are near by, he might not focus on you once he disabled you or you failed to pen him. AND YOU JUST NEED ONE GOOD SHOT WITH 128.
So try not to be alone, you are too slow and obvious, do not feed quick bois including m22 easily for your own foolish.
Very helpful thanks, was i instead supposed to turn around for 3 minutes drive off for another 5 minutes in the vain hope of him not shooting my massive side or back while i try and flank him? Next time dont comment if you're just going to repeat the tired Wehraboo meme.
This is the kind of feedback i was looking for, thanks. I havn't quite given hope with it yet and i can safely say i prefer it to the Ferdinand. I'll try and do what you suggested.
Also be aware of American heavy tanks at that BR, the least threatening thing you can see is the long barreled pershings, which can pen your lower front plate within 800 meters very easily if it is exposed.
Then there's the T series tanks and the M103....
The T34 is your scariest opponent conventional ammo wise at your own tier because it essentially has the american equivalent of YOUR gun but with sold AP instead of APHE with explosive filler.
Then, there's the M103, which gets one of the strongest AP rounds in the game fairly capably of frontally penning you basically anywhere within 500 meters, but its best chance is still the LFP, as the upper plate and superstructure of the jagdtiger is incredibly powerful, as a heads up the AMX 50s with the 120mm guns and also the Foch tank destroyer have the same gun the M103 does, but only with the same solid AP round. The M103 gets a 400mm pen HEAT round that can absolutely jack up your day.
If you can avoid being flanked, stay with teammates to give you backup and prioritize the targets with the biggest guns, you should be fine.... at least until air support shows up and bombs you.
