I'd love a B2P version of a WT-like game w/o all the P2W/F2P shenanigans.

You're welcome to it, but somehow I doubt it will stop you and others like you from trying to harm WT. I'm sure that one game is going to be just wonderful, with a lot of players, content, continued post-launch support and no issues whatsoever.

Well given how buggy and unfinished it is as of current seems very likely lol. It's fun for about 5 minutes but doesn't even stack up to War Thunder.

hmmst?

interesting. Not an alternative, but it could provide a small amount of competition thus causing Gaijin to start listening more.
Doubt it will effect it too much though, and that was wishful thinking.

It's not as close as War Thunder is.

This is like saying Valorant will kill all shooter games

Either way, it's good to see competition.

I wonder if it's even possible to have a full-fledged competitor to WT. This game is too huge, old and active. It kind of fills the entire niche. Competing with it directly doesn't sound like a good idea. It would be an uphill battle for the competitor all the way through (and it's not like launching a new game is an easy task without all that extra risk).

It's like trying to compete directly with WoW in its niche (or LoL / DoTA, Counter-Strike, WoT). Companies used to attempt that quite a lot in the past and it almost never worked. The LoL / DotA parity is the only good example I know of and even that only works because they started almost at the same time and there were some other special circumstances.

Well, when tanks were first introduced here, it did cause an exodus from WoT, one that was large enough to be noticeable, and did lead to a interesting war of words online, one with even WG unleashing its own 50 cent army at one point and getting caught.

This looks promising. Seems to be in a good enough place that it could evolve into something interesting.

Just a friendly reminder that the game is in pre-alpha state with only a slice available and is being worked on by a 5 man team. If you enjoy what you've seen then don't forget to support them :Fistofdosh:

That's because WoT and WT were, and are, very different. Their only similarity is that they are both "vehicle games", they aren't competing directly (just like Rising Storm or Insurgency do not directly compete with Battlefield or CS). A more apt comparison would be WoT and Armored Warfare, where the latter tried to compete directly and failed despite being better in every way.

potentionally seeing WT and WoT losing money after all the time of swinery sounds like a nice thing.

if this game gets some wind id have a decent grin on my face while playing it :)
