KV-2 now useless after penetration "formula" nerf

Yes it is because the caliber massively overmatches the armour and reduces the effectiveness of the sloping. Not to mention... Why are you even using APHE? Everyone should know by now that you fire HE out of large caliber guns like that and not AP.

Take if out for a test drive then. I have had it for years and playing it today vs about a year ago is like night and day. No, it does not overmatch at all. Not even on a T34.

I don't need to. You can pen Shermans easily from the front with the Sav. Now they both have the same amount of penetration according to the calculator, 95mm, but the KV-2 has a much larger caliber gun (152m vs 120mm) which means it overmatches the armour much more and thus reduces the effectiveness of the Sherman more.

Further, the Shermans old APCBC was able to penetrate itself frontally and that only had 90mm pen, 5mm less than the KV and without its large overmatching because of the caliber.

So yes you categorically CAN pen it frontally.

So without taking into account that you can pen the turret or the flat portions of the hull more easily or that some of the Shermans have thinner armour, you very much so can pen a Sherman with it. Of course the smart thing to do would be to just load HE and oneshot it anyway.

Do you even have the KV2? No you cannot pen shermans frontally anymore. And the HE pen was nerfed too, so you cannot oneshot anything with it anymore most of the time.

You can kill anything with the HE by shooting the turret or below the tank or the sides of tanks. The stats speaks for themselves, you can pen Shermans frontally. The lower hull is literally just 47-63mm. The Sav pens them regularly and it penetrates less armour than the KV does.

It can easily pen the PZIV's sloped hull or the turret. Or again just fire HE. Seriously it's not that hard. HE ignores angles and will always bounce shrapnel down and kill crew through the roof.
