is the he162 garbage?
As of right now I just bought the horten 229 and for my next jet I have a bit of a choice. I could either start researching the me163 which leads to more powerful jets or I could try to get the he162. However everyone seems to hate this plane for some reason but using it in dynamic campaign seems fine. The only problem is that I still need to research the plane that comes immediately before it (the longer version of the fw190 which I can't remember the name of) so I think going for the komet is an overall smarter decision.

The Komet and first 262 seem to be fine (obviously, except the 6mins of fuel in the Komet), but the other two 262s with rocket boosters are....lackluster. The line eventually ends in the Cl.13 which is a decent top-tier jet fighter but it is only equipped with M3 .50s.

The He-162, while not as impressive as many other vehicles at its BR, does lead quickly to the MiG-15 bis which obviously is a good vehicle. In the end, it is up to you on where you want to end and what you want to use.

I went the 262 line because I was playing Germany and wanted as many top-tier German vehicles as I could get, while focusing on the F86s in America and MiGs in Russia. My opinion, if you want a good top-tier with less of a grind inbetween (like the useless rocket assisted 262s), go for the 162 line to the MiG.

I kind of agree. The only problem I have with trying to get jets is not only does it take way longer than tier 4, but if you're like me and you only have one jet so far, finding matches to play in is way easier said than done. Even if you do find a match most of the other people there have like cold war era jets, so if you only have 1 jet like me and its an early 1940s one its going to be really difficult for you.

i've seen some ppl with a 2 to 3 KD ratio in it so i assume it is playable

Even the worst jets in the entire game made an appearence at least once when I was playing, like the yak 15 which is pretty bad, but I never came across an he162. That should be an indication of how bad it really is.

I saw it like once in ab and most tier 4 planes can go faster than it. And have better guns too.

are you planning to use it in ab or rb? rb always suits worse planes because at least then you may have the element of surprise, able to hide in clouds etc

Idk to be honest I just like the way it looks. As of right now I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that the ho 229 I have I only use in custom battles, since it's my first jet and I still need practice with it. I only think I should play for real once I have at least 3 jets.

Stock the thing overheats on the runway. It's slow, can't turn, can't climb, can't dive. A P-80 does everything better than you but rolling. Rolling is your only advantage.

I fly it for a laugh because it's terrible stock.

if that's the case it should have a rating on par with most tier 4 fighters since it seems even worse than the planes that come before it

Stock wise, yes, I've barely managed to get it over 500 KMH outside of a dive as usually by the time you're off the runway and climbing there's a P-80 already coming at you, and if one gets on your tail you're pretty much screwed.

Maybe it's better spaded, I don't know, mine never will be.

No matter how much improvements you put into the plane there will always be a russian equivalent to it that outperforms it in every way and costs 3 times less.

I completely skipped on it and just went on to research the MiG with the Komet, Horton and any other late tier IV prop.

In fairness, it does have a 6.7 BR if I remember while the P80 has 7.0, so that's a thing (not that it probably matters all that much). Honestly, the 162 is just one of those stop-gap planes/tanks that Germany has to fill a void between high-tier props and high-tier jets. The main goal in that line is the MiG-15bis, so I wouldn't look too heavily into whether you want the 162 if you want the MiG-15.

I think my best course would be to get the he162 and just leave the mig for later, since its dramatically faster than the rest of the jets except the sabre, and then after the 162 i'll get the komet and the me262. Grinding all the way down the tree through 2 more 262's that are nearly identical isn't worth it.
