The He-162, while not as impressive as many other vehicles at its BR, does lead quickly to the MiG-15 bis which obviously is a good vehicle. In the end, it is up to you on where you want to end and what you want to use.
I went the 262 line because I was playing Germany and wanted as many top-tier German vehicles as I could get, while focusing on the F86s in America and MiGs in Russia. My opinion, if you want a good top-tier with less of a grind inbetween (like the useless rocket assisted 262s), go for the 162 line to the MiG.
I fly it for a laugh because it's terrible stock.
Maybe it's better spaded, I don't know, mine never will be.
In fairness, it does have a 6.7 BR if I remember while the P80 has 7.0, so that's a thing (not that it probably matters all that much). Honestly, the 162 is just one of those stop-gap planes/tanks that Germany has to fill a void between high-tier props and high-tier jets. The main goal in that line is the MiG-15bis, so I wouldn't look too heavily into whether you want the 162 if you want the MiG-15.
