Game doesn't work with Avast
Due to EAC clashing with Avast, using this game while Avast was running locked my account. That has finally been sorted out but before I try again, I need to know something. Will simply putting Avast to sleep will allow me to run this game or do I need to uninstall Avast in order to play?

On a related note, can you access the limited PVE content such as the Japanese and American campaigns I bought without EAC or is EAC required for PVE as well?

I've never used Avast. If it doesn't allow you to add WT to it's exceptions - possibly seek an alternative antivirus product... one that meets your needs while causing you fewer issues.

Most problems with AVG/Avast are crashes, and disabling does not do the trick.

You need to uninstall, reboot, and try again.

Use Windows Defender instead.

The problem isn't with Avast or War Thunder. The problem is that Easy Anti Cheat wrecks the game if you have avast running and for whatever reason, when that happens War Thunder decides your Gaijin account is being stolen and locks it.

I've seen third-party AV softwares cause a headache, it's happening over at DCS. Windows Defender actually does a very good job these days.

Does this game work with Avast yet or are the devs too busy trying to flog their new controller to make War Thunder compatible with the same antivirus that worked fine with the game before they decided to NOT solve their cheating problem by adding EAC to the game?

Maybe ask the Avast and/or EAC developers.

Or if you have Avast installed, try it.

AFAIK EAC is now needed for all modes but Sim AF.

Last time I tried it my Gaijin account got locked and I had to wait on customer service before I could even play Star Conflict again. That's why I'm reluctant to just try and see what happens.

ask the same questions but on the WT forum bug section, can't be sorted on steam.

Dude, its an April Fools joke.

Is there any particular reason you want to use Avast other than personal preference? :o

Hi,

Just wanted to check in and see if Avast and this game are still incompatible. I'd kind of like to play the game (I did play it for hundred of hours and buy lots of DLC before after all) but I can't justify completely removing the anti virus I already paid for just for one game.

I don't mind disabling Avast before running this but completely removing it even when i am not doing War Thunder is out of the question.

It's not the game, but the EAC version the game uses.

You can only check for yourself if it works for you on your PC, or not.
