Playing Panzer III in a nutshell.

*Shot goes in but the spalling manages to avoid everything inside*

*Optic eats the entire shell*

*Shot goes in, manages to kill everything BUT stuff needed to fire and operate the turret*
*Dies one second after*

*Barrel is long from Berlin to Stalingrad yet the gun can't hit the broadside of a barn from inside*

Sometime i get blessed and the tank becomes unkillable and unstoppable, but most of the matches it's just me dinging every tank i see and ending with three million assists.

Has nothing to do with being a freeabo, we all get shafted by the game to a more or less certain degree. :D
Just use the normal shot and utilize your manouverability. Besides that if your loader is halfway decent your tanks ROF is nearly that of a MG compared to other tanks spewing a round every 3-4 seconds.

My opinion of the Pz III M, obviously I am in the minority, but I thought it was already one of the best tanks at 3.3 much less 3.0:


Gun:

5cm L/60, APC kills everything you penetrate in 1-2 shots, 2 shots usually are awkward shots and engine blocks, etc.

Penetration is the ‘down side’, but it isn’t bad. It has more penetration than the 3.3 T-34 and M4A1. 150mm APCR backup works against heavy tanks.

As for the reload, reminder that it has a 4 second reload. It feels like it has an autoloader. A Panzer F2 vs 2 targets is toast, a Pz III M vs 4 can still win. I have repeatedly blown away 2-3 people in rapid succession.


Mobility:

Average. Medium tank speed, not bad, not a T-34 though.


Armour:

Reminder that it has 75mm effective armour frontally, before angling. The Pz III is actually comparable to the Pz IV G/H at 4.0/4.3, it’s only at it’s br because of the <100mm of APC penetration.


Plus add the Pz III M has smoke grenades and scürtzen for .50 cals.



Basically the penetration that is only like 5mm less than a M4A1, it’s ‘weak part’, can be compensated with by aiming. The reason the F2 is more popular is you just have to hit the tank, while the III has to hit ‘the turret of the tank’ or ‘the LFP of the tank’. Compensate for that, you got a tank better than the IV F2, T-34 obr. 1940, M4A1, the best 3.3 medium tank in the game imo., with it’s great armour, good mobility, and auto cannon like firepower.

At 3.0 now.

i can't quite agree.

My performance on the M4 line is far, far, faaaar better.

But yeah, i have been using APCR so maybe that's the reason.

Only use APCR for KVs and stuff, use APC.

Personally I don't like it due to the slow turret turn rate and pretty shoddy armour.

Then again, I've been blessed by Britain and Russia for too long.
