Panther A vs Panther D
Is the Panther A even worth getting if I have a Panther D with every modification and an expert crew? Just seems like the Panther A exposes a weakpoint, that being a bow gun mount.

It has a very fast turret rotation speed which makes it better than the panther D

But is that really better than having an expert crew in the Panther D?

bro you can just buy expert crew for panther a

I'd have to level them up right???
Not to mention the cost of leveling them up and the price of the tank itself

It goes from 6ish degrees to 14 a sec turret speed

Panther A is the better one, believe me. The turretspeed alone makes it better.

Panther A has better acceleration and faster turret rotation. Panther A is without a doubt the best.

Also no, you don't have to level it up. If you have expert on the Panther D, you should just have to buy it again on the Panther A.

A's way better than the D. The hull MG """weakspot""" isn't really weak at all, and the A's turret rotates far faster and there's optional APCR in case you ever manage to find something 190~ mm pen APHE can't handle. I'd get them both just for the sake of having them in the lineup.

Hmmmm guess I'll have to get the A

It is optional. All you need to research the next tank is the research the previous one

The Panther D and A/G are both connected, and the A/G are connected to the F, so if you want to continue researching after the D, you will need to research and purchase the A regardless if you want to go down to the Leopards.

The Panther A is overpowered at 5.7. It has two minor disadvantages, which are weak sides (*cough*notunique*cough*) and poor reverse (like the D also).

It has the same HP/t as a T-34-85.

It has less than 1°/s turret traverse than a Sherman.

It has more frontal armour than almost, if not every heavy tank at 5.7 effective.

It has 189mm of penetration at 10m, with AP(HE)CBC.

It has the trinity of mobility, firepower, and armour, while sacrificing almost nothing in return. It has the firepower to easily dispatch any 5.7 at any range, the accuracy to do so, the armour to, not be immune, but very strong frontally at 5.7 and give even the better 5.7 guns a good run if loosely aimed, and the mobility to compete with the other mediums at it’s BR with it’s other advantages.

Not to mention, it has the Panther D (pretty much the same, but slower and with poor turret rotation and no APCR), Tiger I series, and more as backups, with great CAS, making an amazing lineup.

I honestly believe the reason this tank isn’t pulling 70% winrates is
>often CQC and small maps
>BR compression, often uptiers
>5.7 is popular with Germany, so often uptiers are a team of 80-90% 5.7 Germans vs 70-80% 6.0, 6.3, 6.7 Russian/US/UK/etc. tanks.

I honestly believe it is that good. All issues it has, except for the two very minor ‘less than average side armour’ and ‘poor reverse’ are overal related issues, not with the tank.
