By the time you spawn in and start climbing to the ideal altitude (space), fighters will be all over each other and chasing everyone down low. The bomber hunters will get bored with no bombers and go after them as well.
Free death from above.
First they were promised cockpits years ago to only get placeholders that have never been updated except in rare instances for a few planes.
Then they were reduced to 4 bombers per RB match because people "spammed" them.
Then they increased the ever-loving crap out of the SL repair cost to make it actually impossible to play some bombers like the B-29 and Tu-4.
It really pains me to say you should stick with low-tier bombers or just abandon grinding them outright.
The B-29 is one of my favorite planes in-game, but I can't even use it because if I die like 10 times (which is easy when you try to avoid going to space because people complain even more about that), I am out of SL. Apparently, the He-177 also has a high repair cost now as well, yet another plane I was super excited for.
Unless they drastically lower the SL repair costs for bombers, it actually is a detriment to play them.
So learn to swerve and jerk the controls a bit, even randomly and you will create sweeping arcs of fire for your gunners.
