How to spot tanks
I'm playing the t34 american heavy tank, and I always die from a tank like 25m away from a bush in front of me, and I never see him. My graphics are on max, and I have over 60fps and 60hz screen

spotting even in ab is not automatic, you can't see round corners and through objects.

if just one of your team in ab can see a tank, then all can see their marker on mini map and outline if looking in that direction, if in comz range of each other.

Its how you shoot through walls at things you personally can't see, shoot at the makers.

remember if someone is hidden in ab, they do not show up, people forget this so even in ab, find hiding spots.

There is no magic see all in ab, someone has to be able to see a target for it to show.

In rb, use your eyes and binos as said. This is prob the biggest thing, binos.

The old ones out there know to LOOK before YOU CROSS the road, its true in this game.

Also in both, keep an eye on the mini map, things show up and idiots drive past and I really have no idea how people have fun when they ignore the mini map and get killed by being stupid.
they also get team mates killed because they ignore the enemy....i hate these people.

take notice when people ping on maps, yes you get idiots that do it for fun, but not many.
the ping on the map will be a general warning of something in that area. Don't ignore, don't drive in the open, again i have no idea how idiots can have fun driving in the open in AB.

As said, light tanks and damage will also spot a target in both, but more use in RB, back to the mini map that people ignore....it shows there and they also shows if you are looking in that direction.

Lastly for now, if you started playing the game in AB, you will find that all the places people go to in a game they go to in RB.
If you started in AB you already know most of the hiding spots in RB, they are not as elitist as they think they are.

Don't get me wrong, you get way more sneaky people RB, you really can sit in the open in RB, your just being silly if you do it in AB.

Don't charge ahead in rb, with the br 6.7+ you are now facing some very good players with tanks that can snipe across the map, find cover.
Use eyes. Watch mini map, if someone blows up, check to see where they could have got hit from.
Watch for movement.
Watch for gun fire/smoke.

some crew skills will also help, def in AB.

And just have fun, we all get blown up.

you'll need use a light tank in order to spot enemies. alternatively you can "spot" an enemy by damaging it.

Another small point is that, at ranges like 25m, you can very often hear where enemy tanks are (if listening in stereo or surround).

I'm a fan of spraying machinegun fire into bushes if you think someone may be there. Just don't draw too much attention to yourself.

Also sometimes I see little arrow pointers on the edge of the screen. I've never fully understood those. Someone told me they are little clues to what your crew might be hearing. (Thry are different to thr chevrons that hang above tanks that have been hit by your allies).

headphones for engine noise, personally when I've turned down MY engine noise in options i don't hear their tanks as much.....so I've turned mine back up.

seems odd...might just be me.

What about tanks at 3>5km away behind 600+ bushes that see you perfectly fine and can directly 1 up you by aiming at the 5cm by 10cm weak spot on your turret?
