Low tier BF109s sucks♥♥♥♥♥♥♥change my mind
Seriously, come at me with all that "energy fighter" crap, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cursed plane isn't a good one. I'm talking about the 2.7-3.3 br ones, up to the F2.
You'll get outclimbed and outturned by most spits and hurricanes, and outpaced by the p51s, the only thing this pile of garbage does good is diving acceleration since this property comes from being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heavy flying brick.
Not like that comes in handy to anything but to disengage since its abysmal high speed handling makes it useless to boomnzoom.
Like wtf am I supposed to do with it? Dive? Then? Slowly crawl back to altitude to do that again? Because you won't be getting back up to altitude after diving in this thing oh no, you'll just be fast for a while and that's it. Try to dive-climb and a better climber will eventually catch up, you literally screw yourself by trying to energy fight. If this is a good energy fighter it should have eccellent energy retention, but oh no, get slightly faster and it bleeds speed massively, and any stick imput is like hitting the brakes. So what is this plane for?
Maybe it flyes bad because it packs a punch? That's how its balanced? Yeah right sure, it literally shoots peanuts.

Been in a few games to see if anything changed since I left this winged trash, and 90% of german pilots I've seen either fly bomber/attack, fw190, or even captured spits. So much for pointing at the 109 being the capable dominant plane everyone pretends it is...

I'm not fond off the Bf-109s no matter how good its reputation were compared to its maneuverable Japanese counterparts until time made me understood how energy fighting works.

You've said it yourself, The Bf-109's counterpart like the Spitfires and Hurricanes can easily outclimbed and outturn you easily yet you still climb trying to compete with them. Energy Fighters like the Bf-109 are a bit heavier than those making it less ideal for turn fighting. Energy is just another term of speed and without it you're literally useless with all those turns and climbs that you do.

Bf-109s are capable of outrunning its opponent in its tier provided that you know how to angle and lead your flight path to turn the odds into your favor. Majority of the time you fly an energy fighters like Bf-109, KEEP yourself at LEVEL FLIGHT to get the desirable maneuver speed to perform evasive or offensive approach. IF you feel the plane flies a little sluggish then you're flying it wrong due to the lack of airspeed to do energy fighting.

You don't turn well with this plane due to its lengthy wings as its not the best for turning in a dogfight compared to the Spitfire's wide broaden wings. Rolling is the best way to evade attacks if you know how to outroll Spitfires. The large broad wings of the Spitfire won't do good in rolling due to its wingspan creating a drag in a roll unlike the Bf-109. If you do things right, its possible to outroll Spitfires to bleed speed massively to their six.

FLAPS should be used dynamically whenever its needed. It was built for a reason. Low tier Bf-109s aren't that good to be beginner friendly as its not easy to fly it as it should be to maneuver it properly. If you can't maneuver properly then what's more into aiming? If you can't aim with its ill equipped armament then the plane isn't just useless but that includes you as well.

This is my attempt making an essay to change your mind and if I didn't, its going to be for someone else who'll make use of this information I give. Its been awhile since I've played War Thunder but I could provide replays on how I handle Bf-109 my way ever since I'm playing historical events outnumbered against Russians but still able to change the tides of battle.

cant say for RB or AB but is SIM you can dominate with early bf109s
Spicy Meatball Jan 31, 2019 @ 7:51am
109Emils in sim can turnfight spitfires and hurricanes and come out on top, while the 109Fs have excellent T/W for slashing attacks.

All Emils are fantastic!

Sorry but my ass thats accurate, with the guns they have you cant do ♥♥♥♥ with a quick pass.
Also garbage high speed performance.
The FW190 are good planes for that (and good planes overall), not this ♥♥♥♥♥.

I like my 109 F-2 because spaded, it can outturn most things except the Spits. Lacking a lot in armament though.

Who needs the guns when you have the rockets.

Who needs rockets when you have memeshot that has such high preformance that single gun with it can beat quad hispanos in any situation

I am not aware of this phenomenon

Nice essay, I still don't know ♥♥♥♥ about energy fighting. And yet some people say that 109s are idiot-proof, 100% noob easy mode OP aircraft and that the E-1 should be 3.0 (If you think that, you're out of your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind).

We're talking about the F-2, which has very underwhelming armament, of which none have explosive filler.

Seems like a L2P issue to me. The only Early 109 that in any way or semblance sucks is the B/1-L and the Premium Bf109 A (which are basically the same plane). Even then the airframe is enormously good at that BR and the only thing pushing it down is a sucky engine, and this can be compensated via sideclimb.

Emils have good climb, good turn, good dive and good energy retention at their BRs, and the Fritz series is an absolute beast climber and outspeeds mostly anything but american planes at it's BR whilst still being fairly agile. The E-1 is arguably better than the E-2 due to the MG/FFs being very bad both in ballistics and in the damage they do as 20mm, as well as very limited ammo, meanwhile the E-1 has four individually weak but reliable, fast-firing and well-supplied 7.7mm MGs that can make quite some damage in a moderate burst.

The F1 is basically a harder-to-play F4 at a lower BR due to the MG FF/M having far less ammo and worse ballistics than the F4's MG151 but the same excellent damage on hit, but is an absolute clubber when in the hands of a good player.

The F2 solves the F1's ammo and ballistic problem (15mm ballistics are very good and the penetration makes it viable for tank-hunting with Ground Targets belt) at the cost of far less (but still decent) damage.

Many 109s could take an uptier and still do well (thought that's not enough of a reason to uptier them), and other than requiring some discipline not to rip in a long dive, are very forgiving planes. You just climb straight ahead up to 5-7km, dive on some poor fellow in an american plane who did'nt sideclimb, fly in a straight line to outspeed the Spits, then climb some more and BnZ them, and finally when the american sideclimbers show up your team outnumbers them so much you can sneak-climb to their altitude and force them to dive down to their deaths at the hands of the 109 and G55 swarm.

There's no such thing as an idiot-proof plane, but planes like the Bf109 and the G55 cut it close to such a thing,

Bf 109Es are among the best. My favorite BF 109 in the game is the E-1.

No point in trying to change your mind. If you're a scrub who cannot figure out how to fly the 109, and instead comes onto the forums to cry like a little *you know what*, instead of asking for advice, well then.. your mind being changed has nothing to do with it.
